We went on the 3 hour river cruise. It was well worth the money and gave you a great in site to the was how busy the river was and still is. The commentary was excellent talking about the river and the surrounding area.

User

Vibrant, friendly, safe, clean, a place to go to be happy, socialise, be educated and be in the ❤️ Of the northeast

Stayed at the Travel Lodge - really close by. The staff were excellent, gave a helping hand all, shared information about the area, helped with travel. The Quayside itself was bursting with people for the GNR! Most people from Newcastle were welcoming & helpful, the local police were protective and supportive too. The Cat 🐱 Cafe was excellent, a place to be quite and to relax with fury friends. The activity on the Quayside was well organised. I ran in the 5K on the Saturday it was utterly stunning to be part of something so special and share with people from all walks of life & who welcomed me from Rochester in Kent to Newcastle - Thank You.

Really nice place to visit, looks lovely on a nice summer days and the bridges look great. Would visit again

User

One of our favourite places for an evening stroll, especially when it's coming in dark and all lit up

Newcastle Quayside should be known as the 8th wonder of the world! Not only is the Sunday market mentioned in the Doomsday book, the view of the bridges alongside the Baltic and Sage buildings has to be seen to be believed! If you havnt guessed I am a Geordie and visit the Quayside most Sundays. Newcastle is also deemed to be among the best party cities in the world, need I say more?

Lovely sunny day with lots going on and great views. Enjoyed watching the foot bridge tilt to let the boats through. Nice meal at the pitcher and piano.

Ever since i moved to Newcastle to live with my partner in February this year, i have fallen in love with this great city. I was a bit apprehensive at first with being an urban boy and man, only used to simple townie life. But as time went by, i quickly evolved to love and appreciate the awesomeness of the city delights, architecture and night life. To have all the splendour on my doorstep means i am a very lucky guy. The Quayside itself is only a stones throw away, great for walking my lovely pooches.

Just need to change jobs in the area now and everything will be perfect.

Brilliant place to visit, who knew it had a beach, man-made but still fun. Food stalls were great, I even got a veggie hotdog. Was there with the girls for a hen weekend, everyone was really friendly and great craic, will definitely be going again

User

Although I live in Norfolk have visited here a lot to see my step son. I have a great love of architecture and always look up when wondering around as it has some of the best buildings I've ever seen. Will never tire of standing on the millennium bridge and looking down (or up- not sure which) the Tyne.

Am impressed that - unlike Broad Norfolk which is dying out- the Geordie accent is going very strong 😀

User

Absolutely beautiful, chilled place with so many cultures coming to enjoy themselves in the beautiful place that is Newcastle-upon-Tyne

User

A great place to walk by. Lovely food stalls. We. Loved the Waffle company and Gyros at a Greek stall. The bridges add a lot to the beauty of this place. After shopping and eating, you could see everyone lined up at Pitchers & Piano for drinks.

We stayed for 2 nights for the Great North Run. The rooms are basic but perfectly comfortable, I actually had an amazingly comfy nights sleep. Hotel was largely peaceful, didn't hear any noise whatsoever. Breakfast was excellent. Big bowls of delicious porridge for the runners. I was hugely impressed with the effort the staff went to for the runners. We were offered everything we need Pre and post race. There were notes in our rooms after the race with a mars bar offering us hot chocolates, bath salts and congratulations for finishing the race. Lovely touch and something I won't forget. My boyfriend was disappointed Lenny Henry didn't warm out bed 🙄 Jokes aside, thank you very much. See you next year

User

The atmosphere was amazing, everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves, the music was brilliant as well, the big screen showed all the little runners with their mams and dads and the funny moments which the commentator pointed out like the little girl crying and he said why did you make me do this?? and the little ones running back to high five people they had missed. You had to be there to immerse yourself in it.
