Well, I've just hit the ripe old age of 68, and I'm pleased to say that I have used this same practice since I was 26. Why, then, while on my doorstep in Washington there are (probably) several perfectly decent practitioners available, why travel all the way to far-flung Newcastle for eye care? In my own experience I highly value professionalism, caring and downright friendliness (yes, remember that?). John and his team - and Jan before him - have shown the utmost courtesy and skills, while still making me feel like someone unique. The practice is bursting with all the latest equipment, John and his team are always willing to spend time answering my tedious questions; all of which indicate to me that they are always making the greatest effort to keep up to date with the latest developments - contact lenses in my particular case. Thank you, everyone!

Warm friendly atmosphere. The staff are wonderful and very professional.

These guys are great. A little pricier than the big high street chains, but for that you get the feeling that they are really taking care of you, and not just getting you out of the way to get the next customer in (and a cup of coffee while you wait!).

The service at Querido and Davidson is absolutely excellent, I couldn't recommend them highly enough! They are always helpful and patient and seem to really care about their customers.

Q&D provides excellent patient care. John has been my optician for many years and he is outstanding. Q&D is also the only practice in Newcastle which offers nocturnal contact lenses. I would highly recommend it.

My second visit since number one, two years ago. Nice and cool service. No hassle just easy. Some eye scoping equipment had been upgraded to the max which appeared to my punter eyes as pretty immense kit. Yes, I have had respectable cheaper tests at several different places but this is still the most thorough eye care I have experienced.

Just got the nocturnal lenses, after years of wearing glasses I now can leave them at home. 20:20 vision after just 2 days, can't believe it!! Thank you john and the team x

John Davidson has been prescribing contact lenses and glasses for me for many years. I have always found him to be welcoming, professional and extremely knowledgeable. The same applies to all the staff at the practice. John and the team now look after my family. I can’t recommend Querido and Davidson highly enough.

I've been going to Querido's since I was 11, the service is so good that I still choose to go here despite now living in a different city! John, Angela and Iain all excel at their jobs and put you at ease immediately. The rest of the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for everyone :-)

I now live on Glasgow but remain a client here, and they always manage to time my check ups with home visits.

Cannot reccommend highly enough

I have just joined in the last few weeks and on all four occasions that I have been in the service has been fantastic, all the staff are very friendly, knowledgable and helpful.

I have been using this practice for almost 40 years ( when it was in Killingworth) they are excellent and I know my eyes are being looked after and monitored. John notices any changes and keeps me informed. They are really professional and the equipment they have is the best.

I can only give my highest recommendations for the Querido & Davidson Opticians. As a 32-year old patient with Keratoconus who need gas permeable lenses for proper vision, I cannot stress enough the professional work by Dr. John Davidson and all the staff. I recently needed an urgent lens fitting and all the staff was eager to help me get my prescription, even contacting my previous hospitals in the United States. Also, after being treated in different countries, because of my line of work, I can say that the best patient care I have received from all the different hospitals and specialist has been at Querido & Davidson Opticians. I recommend this place to anyone in need of help with his/her eyesight.

Had eye problems for a few years and have been to Eye Infirmary several times with mixed results. Got in touch with John and after two appointments with Angela my eyes are better than have been for years. First class friendly service and advice. Cannot praise them enough.

Five stars every time for these wonderful people! They have looked after me SO well for the past 11 years. My eyes have given me lots of anxiety lately. John is always there to help and advise and all the staff are a great team. My lenses arrived today, thank you Anne. Only requested them yesterday! Even if you don't live in Newcastle this place is worth the trip. You get coffee and promotional events too and there are great prizes to be won!
