Apologies if you have tried to get in touch with me via email recently, there have been a few gremlins in the system which has meant I haven’t been receiving them!

Who said you can't relax and exercise at the same time!
The Prayer Position or Child Pose is one of my favourite movements as it stretches your neck, shoulders, back and hips. But more importantly you can close your eyes and almost drop off...perfect to unwind after a tough day!
Prayer Position / Child Pose (30 secs - 1 min)... - Start in four point kneeling - Sit your bottom back towards your heels - Reach slightly forward with hands - Rest forehead on floor - Relax!

People who suffer from lower back pain often have weak glutes (the muscles in your bottom).
Doing 2 minutes of kickbacks each day will help strengthen your glutes and reduce pain in your lower back.
Glute Kickbacks - 2 mins
... 1. Start on your hands and knees. Hands slightly above shoulders and knees below hips. Chin slightly tucked in and shoulders pulled slightly down towards your bottom. 2. Slowly slide your left knee down and away from your bottom. 3. As you extend your leg your foot will naturally lift off the floor, squeeze the muscles in your bottom to control the movement. 4. Slowly return to start position 5. Repeat 6 times before swapping to your other leg.
If you start to notice yourself arching your back, you have extended your leg too far, try and keep your back nice and flat.

Photos of exercises and key points to think about while in the position.
I will regularly be posting exercises to my newsfeed and you can use this album for a more detailed explanation of the movement.
If you do try any of these exercises and experience any discomfort during or after, stop immediately.
