We keep coming back to this hotel, good value, really friendly staff, and the guy that checked us in and out from our visit was so happy and engaged! Didn’t catch his name, but we stayed last night and he wore a gray suit I think anyway, would definitely recommend.

User

Warm and friendly staff who go above and beyond absolutely fabulous hotel stylish surroundings and amazing food great location too we loved it and will definitely return Marcus.

Stayed for three nights end of September. All the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was excellent, we require an accessible room and was the best we have ever experienced. Very large room with a perfect, large, well equipped wet room. Everywhere very clean and tidy. If a small issue, communication between the teams doesn't seem to exist. Asked Reception if necessary to book a table for the restaurant, told no but it was in fact packed and had to eat in the bar area, no big deal as still served, just had to order at the bar. No critiscim of the staff involved, they are all very busy, just perhaps a management issue in ensuring each team is kept informed of relevant information.

Easy walking distance to Newcastle Quays across the Millennium Bridge with beautiful views, which are even more spectacular at night with all the lights. Would definitely use again.

Me and my husband had an overnight stay last night, when we arrived to check in there was quite a big party together I presume but we didn’t have to wait long unfortunately I can not remember the guys name who checked us in but he wore glasses well he was lovely and very helpful all 3 members on reception was happy and pleasant. We went out for an evening meal in town and came back to the hotel for a drink when I saw the guy who checked us in and he asked how our night was and if the room was ok I told him we had been to beamish in the day etc he took interest in what we did so was lovely. Also the bed was really comfy and the room was clean we did have to have the window open as we was really warm all in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend your hotel. Regards mr and Mrs howie

I have just had two nights three days there with my group on holiday.

We were made very welcome the manager came-out to greet us on arrival.

The check in was very easy and quick as there was 38 people it was made very easy.

We had a good choice of meals, starter ,main, and two pudding s.

It's in a nice spot next to the river, close to town.

The room s all very clean and warm,I love the no nonsense big walk in shower with plenty of hot water.

Breakfast was good lots of choice, plenty of staff on duty all very helpful, chatty.

Girls on reception very efficient as was the manager.

We all enjoyed our stay thank you,Maggie Hamilton.

Had an overnight stay as we were having a few drinks in the sun. Hotel is lovely and clean our room had a king size bed in which was massive. The hotel is in a good location in Gateshead Quays with a short walk and over the millenium bridge to all of the night life and action. Had a lovely stay.

User

Great place to stay, lovely staff, room very clean and comfortable, highly recommend.

User

We visited on sat 19th Aug. Hotel was nice enough. We were given a disabled access room on the 4th floor so it was nice and big.

Room was clean but the shower wasn't great as it had very low water pressure but wasn't a big issue. I liked the laminate flooring but this made the bed slide away from the wall which was a bit of a pain.

Overall it's a decent hotel but bar was a bit pricey.

Stayed here overnight on Sunday with my hubby after seeing ed Sheeran at St James's Park. Couldn't get parked in car park when we got there and had to park in an un designated place. Check in was easy and the man on reception was lovely and friendly. Had to pay £5 charge for car park which wasn't stated anywhere when I originally booked the room. Our room was nice and modern. Would recommend for a cheap overnight stay.

User

Stayed here new years eve. The staff were really friendly. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable. The only little criticism i found was the room was a little cold even when we had the heater on for a few hours! All in all though a nice hotel.

User

Parking was a bit tight but otherwise a decent hotel. Food was good value for money and the room was a good size...although could do with an iron!

User

I liked this hotel a lot. We stay in a fair few so have a lot to compare with. I would advise not to use the taxi in the hotel though.... very expensive we found. Ubered it back from time, less than half the price. Though its only a 1 mile walk into town over millenium bridge. We didnt have a great view like some others. But dor the cost od the room I really cannot complain at all. Few niggly bits that werent worth complaining about e.g broken bed side light, not enough plug etc. Overall, staff very friendly, hotel brilliant value and close to amenities, rooms nice spacious clean enough and lovely comfy beds. ☆☆☆☆

User

For almost £100 per night I was slightly disappointed! It didn't feel like a boutique hotel and I have stayed in boutique hotels before who provide complimentary mini bar etc. The room was clean but basic. The shower didn't seem to drain properly and the whole floor, including round by the toilet was drenched and really slippy. The lighting by the mirror was poor and I had to use the torch on my phone to see properly. Reception staff were friendly but bar staff really slow.

User

Booked for 2 nights 17-19th November

Checked in was easy enough and adviced how to get to the Quayside for food that night.

Our room was on the 5th floor .

We didn't like the 'wood' floor as it made the room very cold as the very small wall heater couldn't heat the room .

Not enough plug sockets near the mirrors , just a good job the lead on my straightens is very long .

The bed was too low and not big enough . We aren't huge people so God knows how a larger person sleeps . Also the bed is on wheels meaning it moves when you sit up and lean on the headboard . You end up across the room.

Bathroom looked clean enough but the mirror was covered with water marks on our arrival . Not sure the wet room style shower was fitted properly as the floor got completely drenched .

The lighting was also badly planned . We arrived at night and struggled to find a mirror with enough light to do our make up .

All in all the staff made this hotel by being so friendly and knowledgeable but i did expect more from our room and did also think the £5 per night parking scandalous on a barriered carpark .

User

No air conditioning in a baking hot room. Booked a family room for a family of 4. Arrived to find one double bed and one double sofa bed. For some reason children are expected to share a bed. Had to ask for extra sheets, towels and had no toilet paper. Not a bad hotel for a hen or stag but not good for a family at all!

User

Hotel is nice but shocking customer service! After leaving something really valuable at the hotel, I phoned at 10:30 the following day to ask them if they can check for me, the next morning and phoning them back a further 4 times and they promise to call you back, still no call back! It took 10 calls for someone to pick up after trying to phone for 40 minuets.

User

Well, what can I say, we arrived yesterday, first of all the key didn't work, when we eventually got into the room, went into the en suite to find the mirrors glass shelving and toilet flush covered in splashes and finger marks...this makes me question the cleanliness of the room straight away. So, they move us to another room. I've been rather unwell so have came back to the room tonight to relax, my partner ordered soup for me,within 3 minutes he phoned down to cancel it to be told that we couldn't as they had already made it! (They had put it in the microwave to heat it) and they would be charging us for it (£8) the service is diabolical, I'm sitting on my bed composing this review, I've leaned back on my pillow and the bed is rolling down the room! It's only on wheels! Seriously you couldn't make this up.... I hate this hotel and can't wait to go home, to say I'm upset is an understatement, I will never, ever stay in a Ramada Encore Hotel again, I've never felt so unwelcome anywhere in my entire life. (Apart from the lovely lady at breakfast this morning) Whoever is in management here, clearly is doing it all wrong.... hate it, hate it, hate it, if it wasn't for the fact that the drive home is 3 hours and I'm unwell, I'd be out of here tonight...oh and £5 per day parking too! Customer service NIL!

User

Well I've been here one night so far (sadly I'm here for another) and I arrived to a drunken bunch of lads in the lobby leaving empty cans everywhere. 2 guests interrupted our check in, one couldn't get in their room with their key, another was kicking off about something but not sure what.

The room itself is grotty and nothing like the photos.

I ordered room service and my medium rare steak tasted like a burnt piece of rubber.

Then, and this is the highlight of my stay so far, a lady bursts into the room (whilst I'm naked) as she's been given my room to stay in! Absolute comedy of errors and I'm not even halfway into my stay yet. I'd ring down and complain but my room phone doesn't even work! Shambles.

The staff are pleasant enough and it must be very difficult to work with the infrastructure they have, clearly there's something systemically wrong with the way this hotel is run.

User

This hotel has no duty to their customers. They want to charge us for an extra room because someone did not do their job properly at their end.

We arrived with a tired 3 year old and the manager is refusing to do the honourable thing by offering a good will gesture of accommodating us in two rooms instead of the family room booked.

The room is not even clean. I have photographic evidence to show the state of the bedroom

I would rate this hotel as -0 if that choice was available.
