It's with great sadness that we have to write this post. As some of you may have heard we have had to close the Riverside Lodge. We can honestly say it wasn't an easy decision but things just had to come to an end as we couldn't carry on the way things were going after an extremely difficult year last year. Having been here since 1991 as the steward & stewardess of Morpeth Social Club then latterly as the owners of Riverside Lodge we've been through quite a bit especially the... two floods one in 2008 which closed us for over nearly a year, we struggled to come back from that but we soldiered on for another 8 years. Bill & Liz would like to thank everyone, friends, customers and everyone who has supported them throughout those 27 years from the bottom of their hearts, as you can imagine they are absolutely devastated it has come to this. We'd also like to apologise to anyone that has booked a wedding, party or any other kind of event with us as obviously we won't be able to carry them out. Anyone who has paid deposits we will be in touch with you in the coming days to organise a refund of the monies you have paid. Once again from Bill & Liz we really do apologise.
Thanks for the memories Morpeth we've loved being here and will remember it for ever.

What a gem of a find, loved the new deco, the food was excellent and the choice of gins was brilliant.... and all of it was very reasonably priced. We most certainly will be back.

We would like to thank Sarah and Clifford and all there staff at the riverside for helping us with the preparations to celebrate our special day on the 29th of September 2018. You have totally amazed us with your professional approach and we are both so grateful because your assistance has enabled us to look forward to our wedding day without the stresses of organizing the venue and wedding breakfast.

We opted for the garlic mushrooms to start and belly pork .. food was superb.. staff attentive polite and very pleasant and happy.

We got married here on 26th November 2016 and I could not fault anything! The food was amazing and the service provided by Liz and her team was fantastic. I would recommend the Riverside for any event!

The food we had yesterday was out of this world. The Beef especially was amazing. The manager Sarah and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We will return again soon. Thanks the Ehala family

One of my favourite venues to see live music in the North East. Bill is always a welcoming host and the beers, wine and spirits top notch. The recent Wishbone Ash gig was excellent. We'll be back �

Me and my husband got married here on Saturday 24th September 2016 and it was absolutely stunning and beautiful the way they done everything and the food was so nice... We would definitely recommend this place, and the owners are so welcoming and friendly

Me and my friends had a fantastic night, we were here for a charity night and the food, entertainment and atmosphere were five star, a very clean and friendly place

I helped my sister decorate the Riverside Lodge for her wedding at the weekend. Liz was a massive help on the day, so friendly and organised and finished the tables off for us to perfection when we had to leave to get ready. The chairs and table cloths from Simply Bows were beautiful and completed the look. Sorry I don't know where the brilliant LOVE sign and sparkly dance floor were from. Nothing was too much for Liz and her team. The buffet was amazing and the staff did everything they could do help throughout the day. When I came to collect everything the next day Liz was on hand and helpful again. I'm sure the new Mrs Hood will send a message as well but I wanted to say thank you for your help as well xx

Had our wedding at the riverside lodge yesterday 3rd October 2015 and it was totally amazing! Liz, Andy and all her staff went above and beyond what I'd expected! Food fab, service was so professional and nothing was too much trouble! I'd recommend it to anyone!

Had my husbands 40th party here and it was fab. Liz and Bill have brilliant staff nothing is a problem. We also had a little family gathering the day after our wedding and again they were amazing.. personal service.

Had a fantastic meal last night, there were 25 of us and we were made to feel so welcome, nothing was a problem and food was fab especially the yorkshires...huge!!! Highly recommended.

Got too say this place is a lot better than it used to be apart from the pool tables no longer being there . Great atmosphere the staff are a lot friendlier and more welcoming and the drinks prices are a lot more reasonable had to check they'd not given me the wrong change when I bought my first drink � First time in since reopended and couldn't recomend more �

Drink here a lot but this is my first time having food at it was so nice, good prices and great portions will definitely be eating here again!!

Brilliant day yesterday for Riverside Rocks,very friendly staff who worked very hard to keep the drink flowing,no complaints from us 10/10.see you again soon.

Had a very cheap & cheerful lunch...only 2 choices for starters/main...the normal ice cream or tea for afters £5.95....but large helpings & very nice...lots of room for our wheelchair bound mother...pleasant friendly young man behind the bar....will definitely return...

Nothing to boast about beibg a new years eve party the staff were very attentive & the food was good cabaret wss good too but there were some frosty face looking people there which if it wasnt for our big party of 24 it wouldnt have been much fun

Lovely big room but only 2 bar staff on so always waiting ages to get served men's loos need a good overhaul too small for size of the room if you buy a soft drink Coke don't get draft as it's cheap kind go into main bar and buy cans of the real I am for the same price

Cant believe you ran out of ice, just shouldn't happen, very in professional, on a large even that you knew was happening months in advance, music was great, very enjoyable day, until I had to leave early to get a drink with ice elsewhere.
