Went to see DragonForce last night. First time in the Riverside and hope every time I go back that it is as good as last night. Great intimate venue. Great to see a band that plays stadiums and festivals in the Riverside. Great booking guys. Keep them coming. Definitely will be returning.

User

Went to Break Stuff last night which was an amazing event, unluckily I lost my purse in the venue and when I asked the door staff if they'd had anything handed in the manager Tom overheard, came to chat to us and totally went out of his way to check all the bars/check with staff to see if it had been handed in then said he would check in the morning - just totally mint customer service. Really felt like he cared. Great to have somebody like that at the heart of a venue. Thanks for your help!

User

We went last night(01-08-17) to see British Lion, Steve Harris's band at the Riverside. Had phoned the boss earlier asking about a seated area as I've blown my already gammy knee out and needed a seat. He told me to see the doorman ( name supplied) and they'd sort us out. They positioned us at the side, close to the front, great seats! The doorman was really helpful and friendly and he made sure we were ok throughout.

Parked out the back which was free after 6.30pm. We arrived early, paid for parking till 6.30 and went opposite to eat and drink. Didn't use the bar but I always expect they're going to be relatively expensive. Being a small intimate gig, we were close to the stage and able to get a few canny photos. It wasnt overcrowded, nice temperature throughout and comfortable. Great venue, great gig. Will be back.

User

Saw Drenge/Kagoule who were both brilliant, excellent venue, excellent beer... Beavertown, reasonably priced

User

Luvy wee hotel staff very nice. Breakfast was really good too defo be back

User

Love riverside me! One of the best venues in town! Much better than the O2. Many venues like the O2 and the club events they put on lack emotion or feel however I always find riverside, despite its size, still keeps the vibe personal and intimate; probably due to the amazing sound system. 11/10 would recommend. Shame about the £4.30 red stripe although luckily there's a weatherspoons across the road

User

Great venue, went to see while she sleeps, in hearts way and fizzy blood. Impressed from the start..fizzy blood had just started, great acoustics, great view from anywhere on the ground floor, Ideal for us oldies stood at the back. . Good ventilation..all round good feel for the place. All much better than our last gig at the phone sponsored venue nearby.

Only criticism, the friendly door staff stamped our hands on entry, i later read "ID checked"

..i didnt have to show any id...but i am 45 and 3/4

Great venue...keep it up !

User

Excellent venue! I'd definitely go to more gigs there! Had a great view of Paul Draper, on stage even though I was stood right at the back haha

User

All round great venue, love all the quirky art work and neon lights.

User

great gig tonight by the marmozets but just wanted to say that your bouncers and security staff were amazing! totally understood the atmosphere and were fantastic with crowd surfers etc and added to the experience for people rather than restricting it. rare to get a venue or staff that do that now so nice work! x

User

Yeah so fuck it's got a sticky carpet and the toilets upstairs ! it's a gig venue ffs go see your gig and enjoy the fucker ! drinks are obviously more expensive as your a captive audience but shit what you gonna do ! Drink tap water ?? Leave the gig halfway through to save a pound!! Has a smoking area and a balcony , door staff are what they are be cool and expect the same in return be a dick and get Treated like shit your choice

User

Was there for the Sam Fender/AfestivalAparade/Hector Gannet gig on Thursday night and thought it's a great venue. This was my first visit to the Riverside and will definitely be returning for future gigs but really hope, and I'm no snob, that you sort the toilets out soon. They were really bad and not a place you feel like visiting even if you need to. Toilets aside great atmosphere and the staff did well considering how many people were in there trying to buy a drink

User

Pretty good venue, though I think they've missed out on a trick by not extending the balcony across the back. Venue staff were polite, but yet another concert venue failed to have any real ale on draught, whilst maintaining a selection of cooking lagers (though there were cans and bottles of ales, but no pint option). Toilets were a bit small and pokey: the gents' was quite limited access especially when the show was over and they were at their busiest. The stage was well lit, and the sound good quality, though too loud on this occasion (and I've played in hundred's of venues across Europe, as well as attending hundreds of gig venues as a punter too, so I know when volumes are right or wrong)

All in all though a good venue. And getting a parking spot in the venue car park was a bonus too! :)

User

First time ar the riverside for ghostpoet gig. Sound system has a great sound, loved the space downstairs as you could see from anywhere. Didn't get to the toilets but reviewers seem to think they aren't up to scratch. Loved the feel of the place from the door staff to the bar staff, looking forward to going on 2nd December now.

User

Decent venue but bar needs to sort pricing as 3 identical rounds cost 3 different prices

User

2nd time IV been to this venue within a few months , was really suited to both gigs , Gin Annie and 911& 5ive , gud central location in Newcastle

User

Venue is well situated, the only downside was the toilets had a sock and under crackers full of shit. This was placed under the small urinal in the men's toilet. This was at last night's gig which was Stone Broken. Now I'm all for a laugh but fuck me staff should of sorted it as it fucking stunk the whole shit house out. So 3 stars for very poor hygiene.

User

The event itself was absolutely brilliant and there wasn't much after a wait to get in. That said there was only toilets were upstairs and not enough for the amount of people in the venue. Also the selection of drinks was pretty poor one of the two beers on tap went off and the staff were charging different prices upstairs to down.

User

The band were great (Jar Family), bouncer was lovely and helpful, bar staff were efficient and friendly and great view of the stage...... But OMG this place needs a refurb. The carpet upstairs is so ingrained in filth it looks like a rubber mat and it stinks of pee, as if people just lash on the carpet up there. There are vomits dried onto the walls as you walk up to the balcony and crispy vomit on a plug socket. It was quite quiet the night we went and I can't help thinking more people would go if they didn't feel scared going in without have a Hepatitis C jab!

Went to see DragonForce last night. First time in the Riverside and hope every time I go back that it is as good as last night. Great intimate venue. Great to see a band that plays stadiums and festivals in the Riverside. Great booking guys. Keep them coming. Definitely will be returning.

Saw Drenge/Kagoule who were both brilliant, excellent venue, excellent beer... Beavertown, reasonably priced
