About Robin Hood Inn

Typical Northumbrian pub, with log fires, cask ales and seriously good food, served in an informal and friendly environment.

Robin Hood Inn Description

The pub sits amidst the wild, stunning countryside of Northumberland, adjacent to Hadrian’s Wall and close to the historic towns of Corbridge and Hexham. The pub offers fresh, local produce, roaring fires, and both bed and breakfast accommodation and camping.
Kathleen and Billy recently took over The Robin Hood and the extensive pub and accommodation refurbishment is now complete. This is a typical Northumbrian pub, with log fires, cask ales and seriously good food, served in an informal and friendly environment. Fresh, locally sourced produce takes priority. The building is full of character and charm, offering a warm and welcoming environment. Well behaved dogs are also welcome in the bar area.
The pub is now open 7 days a week, serving lunch and dinner, with food available 12-9 every day.

Wonderful warm & friendly welcome from staff, sadly didn't have a bite to eat this time but did see some of the meals being served- they looked delicious so we will make a point of returning for a meal soon

Went this afternoon for an impromptu late lunch/early tea with my hubby and son after work. Service was very attentive and we got a table no problem. My husband and I went for the sloppy Joe burger and my son went for the small bacon chop from the lunch menu which was very reasonably priced at just £7.95 and a good size portion for a small meal, more than enough for a child or adult with a small appetite. Sloppy Joe burgers were amazing, I'd definitely recommend, but go hungry they are a meal in themselves but the triple fried chunky chips were too delicious to leave. Good size portions at a reasonable price for the quality and amount of food. If you're looking for somewhere new to go definitely give The Robin Hood a try, it won't disappoint

Went for mothers day. Lots of staff so no waiting. Food delicious. Restaurant beautiful. The waitresses were lovely. We'll be back. Thank you.

User

We stayed here as we were at a wedding at Matfen Hall. Staff were so lovely and accommodating. The breakfast included was amazing! Thank you for a great stay x

User

Slightly above pub food prices but worth the extra. Burger was the best I have ever had and I've done all of the Five Guys and Fat Hippo etc. Served pink because it's fresh and high quality meat, well put together. The home made chips were great too. Also had Sunday lunch here, it was perfect, meat perfect, veg perfect, homemade roast potatoes and home made Yorkshire Pudding, highly recommended.

Me and my husband went last night for the burns night celebration. Brilliant night, piping in the haggis, then the toast to the haggis (in English). Very entertaining! Food was gorgeous if I was going to give any constructive feedback it would have been the cranachan, needed some raspberries running through it. BUT really clutching at straws there. Will be back ASAP to try some of the other lovely food. Staff were an absolute delight, so friendly and welcoming. Like a well oiled machine, service was great. Would give it 10 out of 5. Cracking. Xx

User

Lovely pub, fantastic service and food. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. Managed to fit us in for breakfast even after they had stopped serving breakfast. Such a lovely place.

User

Just had a lovely tasty lunch here, while sitting next to an open fire, very pleasant decor, welcoming staff quick to take order and food arrive promptly, superb chicken fricassee, one of the day's specials, full of flavour.

Cosy with a pleasant atmosphere and very reasonable prices.

Will definitely return.

User

I went for the vegetarian option of Portobello stuffed mushrooms. It was amazing I will definitely go back for more x

User

I Popped in for food on Thursday late afternoon, have been before and was so impressed I wanted to return when over that way, I wasn’t disappointed, amazing food, fantastic service, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Needless to say I will be returning again and again! Superb.

User

Great place when we were walking Hadrian’s Wall Path. Such a warm welcome, fantastic room and great food. Thank you all for giving us such a relaxed evening

User

Fantastic as always. We took our kids for Sunday lunch I have a very fussy eater, the staff and chef went out of their way to offer him veg that wasn’t on the menu. We visited again for a family birthday a few weeks ago and then last night we stayed over in a very spacious and comfortable room. Food is outstanding and staff are so friendly and attentive. We will be back very soon. Thank you 💜

User

Definitely recommend this lovely pub. The food was really good. Much better than normal pub grub. All three of us had something different and all loved what we had chosen. The staff were all really pleasant and the waitress we had was so accommodating, I think her name was Louise (dark hair and specs) a great asset to the pub. Keep up the good work we’ll be back soon x

User

Called in today for some food after we'd been to Go Ape just along the road. Beautiful food didn't have to wait long at all and great friendly service.

User

Best pub food I've ever had in a lovely relaxed environment. Plenty of parking. Staff are so lovely and friendly. Great choice of drinks and best of all it's dog friendly 😍😍

Yesterday there was a cocker spaniel and a pug and I didn't know which one to stroke 1st.

If you want proper cooked from scratch food and not oven heated food then look no further. One of my favourite pubs :)

User

Being vegetarian I am always hoping that the veggie options in a refined pub eatery match the meat dishes for imagination and flavour. So often the ubiquitous risotto or other Italian offering falls very short. Not so for this pub. Real thought and care went into my well sized and filling meal. I was really impressed and really enjoyed my meal. Thank you. Will definitely come again.

User

Another excellent meal at the Robinhood pub on the military road. Not forgetting the excellent service from the staff.

User

We stayed overnight in one of the lodges, very clean comfortable ( If a bit pricey ) accomadation, downside, needs a proper path to the lodge as our feet were soaking wet after walking across the wet grass, Didnt like the fact that you had to order breakfast ( extra when staying in the lodge ) the night before was plentiful and the staff couldn't do enough for us

User

Its nice for a stop but I wouldnt stay here again, The food is great!! some of the better meals we had on the walk but the service was weird and the campsite well is a car park.......It was one of the more expensive campsites, it had no facilities and you could here the traffic all night.... you can stay down the road for 20 pound extra for a couple and you get a bed and equal standards for breaky.
