Royalty Theatre

About Royalty Theatre

The Royalty Theatre is the only venue in the city of Sunderland providing regular dramatic productions.

Royalty Theatre Description

We stage seven plays each season (Sept to June) including a traditional family pantomime every December.

The theatre also hosts events staged by outside hirers. In the past year alone these have included events such as dance school productions, flower arranging demonstrations and a brass band concert.

Our funding comes entirely from membership subscriptions, sponsorship, the proceeds of outside hires and whatever can be raised through our own efforts.

Hire of the theatre can be secured by contacting chair@royaltytheatre. co. uk.

A kid's classic to start off the summer, with an afternoon performance on Saturday 30th June.
Tired of spring-cleaning, Mole leaves Mole End and ventures out to the riverbank, where he befriends the resourceful Ratty, the gruff Badger and the infamous Toad of Toad Hall (poop-poop!). Together they explore the Wide World, and the Wild Wood, and try to keep Toad out of trouble…!

Final night and last chance to see a show that audiences have been loving and laughing at all week. Come and see a wonderful cast and start your bank holiday off with with a hilarious night out. Tickets: www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/194739

User

went to see, my great nieces, dance in this, production. Was a great performance. Why pay loads, of money to go and see, professionals act, when these, amateur, productions, are just as good. Enjoyed every minute, and laughed all the way through, well done to all.

User

This is the fourth time I've been to see a panto at the Royalty Theatre Sunderland. It's a great show with some fantastic performances. I recommend it, especially if you're on a tight budget. Look forward to next year's show!

User

This is the 3rd year we have been to the Royalty for panto and once again we have not been let down. Fab cast and great atmosphere. Keep up the good work. See u next year

User

The Odd Couple was fantastic!! A hilarious play carried off brilliantly by a very talented cast! Would urge everyone to go along and see it if you can! Amateur dramatics at its best!!

User

Saw the Rabbit Hole and wow just wow. All actors were fantastic and pulled at the heartstrings. The story was very sad but has good inputs of humour to balance the trauma. The script was great but the delivery was amazing. The young man who was driving the car in the accident really did well. His youthful charector struggling with the guilt of the situation really hit a cord. I loved the humour of the sister and the mother/grandmother the bath set scene was a delight. The pain of the mother and father was so raw and they shone through in every scene. Well done all it was just fantastic.

User

Quack quack! (Never been called a duck before)...

All I can say is that was a fantastic performance from all of the cast, you were all superb and both me & Chloe enjoyed every minute! Well done to all & break a leg for the rest of the run!

Loved every part if it.

I was in the pantomime for the first time last year (aladdin) and it was fantastic, met some great people and have recently joined the youth theatre group there.

I can only dream as being as good and as confident on stage as the cast of the pantomime and the cast of Oscar wilde.. both of which were amazing. Well done everyone x
