(perfect for using up leftover Mini Eggs!) ⚗️ On Wednesday, we presented a liquid mystery - why was the clear liquid changing colour when poured into different glasses? 🚀 On Friday, we showed you how to launch your own rocket using recyclable materials at ...home!

We've never been more vocal about the environment, whilst still embracing frequent flights, fast fashion and avocados. In the pandemic, we've had to drastically alter our lives, benefitting the planet. But will we revert to our old ways when this is over?
Register for our next FREE Virtual Science Speakeasy on 14 May to join the debate 🎫 https://www.life.org.uk/climate-hypocrisy

If you're anything like us, you'll have a lot more recycling piling up while staying at home. Instead of just popping it straight in the bin, why not use it to launch (hehe!) a new family game? Endless fun to be had!

Have you solved our puzzle? 🤔
Watch our video below to find out what was causing Toni's liquid to change colour from glass to glass. We'd love to hear from you if you guessed correctly! #LifeGoesONline #EcsiteOnline

User

Yesterday afternoon we challenged you to find the solution to our liquid mystery. What was causing the liquid to change colour from glass to glass when Toni poured it? 🤔 Tune in at 1.30pm today to see our new video, where we reveal all! #LifeGoesONline life.org.uk/life-goes-online

User

Why is Toni's liquid changing colour from glass to glass? There's no technical trickery involved, so science must have the answer! 🤔 Comment and tell us what you think is causing the colour change in, and tune in tomorrow to see if you're right! #LifeGoesONline #EcsiteOnline

Easter falls on a different date each year, but why? 🤔
Easter always falls on the first Sunday following the first full Moon that occurs on or after the day of the Spring equinox. Although it changes each year, Easter Sunday always falls between 22 March and 25 April 🤯

Happy National Pet Day! We're all spending a lot more time with our beloved moggies and pups at home at the minute, but did you know house cats share 95.6% of their genetic make up with tigers? 🐯
Share pics of your pets and tell us a fact about them in the comments below 👇

Celebrate Easter with some local tradition and an eggs-elent eggs-periment you can do at home! 🐣 Use food and plants to dye amazing patterns onto eggs.
Toni has used onion skins to dye her eggs, but why not try beetroot for a vibrant pink, red cabbage for a bright blue (yes, really!) or turmeric for a daffodil yellow - perfect for spring!
This experiment uses the kitchen hob and boiling water, so children must be supervised by an adult.
... Send us photos of your dyed eggs proudly on display in your home, we'll share our favourites on our social media! #LifeGoesONline

Life is home to two NHS clinics that do amazing work. For instance, thousands of babies have been born with the help of Newcastle Fertility Centre. As a thank you to the NHS staff onsite and across the country, our towers have a blue glow and our digital screens share a message of gratitude and solidarity 💙

🍫 CAUTION: Delicious experiment! 🍫
Try out this tasty experiment to calculate the speed of light using just chocolate and a microwave! The best bit? This experiment is completely edible 😋
The science content of this activity is best suited to people aged 9+, but anyone can take part. And if you don't have any chocolate at home, don't worry! You can also use potatoes, bread and butter or sweets.
... Tell us how you get on with this activity and what you calculate the speed of light to be in the comments below. Did you get closer to the correct answer than we did? #LifeGoesONline
