Team of the decade 2010-20 Winger
Our next inductee is perhaps the most exotic. Our very own Johnny Foreigner.... Stuart Mclennan!
... Stuart McLennan – A.K.A the Flying Scotsman (Just kidding, no one calls him that) - has been a Staple in the squad for several years now, with good reason. One past match report described him as “Speedy and robust, leaving a trail of broken defenders in his wake” which could be said about his performance on the pitch more often than not. Although slowing now, due to his increasing age and waistline, compared to that speedy lightweight we once knew, he is still a strong runner. A ferocious defender and is amongst the best of the backs when it comes to joining rucks in the absence of tired forwards, so much so that Neil Addison (Club nuisance Snr.) has recently described him as “the best flanker we have” despite never donning the 6 or 7 shirt! There is only one other activity where Stuart really shines and that is his incredible ability to take a lot of stick in the bar during the internationals.
Simon Wilson (Brother in law and 18th best forward the club has right now)

Our 11th inductee to our team of the decade is the man who passed on the opportunity to body double in Thor:Ragnarok. Karl Johnson!
... It’s not nice to witness a local team fold, but when Athletic went under Seaton prospered with the inclusion of Karl Johnson. You couldn’t ask for a nicer more genuine person to ever meet in your life. He was a huge asset on the pitch, whether he was beating defenders with his pace or dazzling them with his God like, sculpted frame, he always made an impact. I think his most memorable impact was in the local derby against long time rivals Hartlepool! Let’s just say that Karl made a lasting impression after that match.

Our 10th inductee has been one of our most important players over the past decade. Lewy Humble.
... With more retirement speeches than tries scored this decade. Lewy is giving it “one more year” and we are lucky to have him playing. A more passionate (mouthy) player you will not find and he brings lots of experience having played in DN1 and represented the Army U21’s but Lewy has played his best rugby for Seaton. A metronomic goal kicker, many games were won by the swing of his boot. He possess many traits that make a great 10. Excellent understanding of the game, great distribution and the best broken field runner I’ve ever played with or against. He would also be a definite for an all time Seaton team, as well as the decade.

Our 9th inductee is just bloody great at playing rugby. Marty Lithgo.
... Redacted is one in a long line of Lithgos who have graced this club with their talents. Upon his return he immediately showed his skills, a clear telent that can and is now being showcased at a much higher level. During his short tenure as my assistant he made, for want of a better word, a great "impact" on the skill levels of some of our most promising players. Affectionately known as the slug as his pace rapidly deserted him he was and is a magnificent rugby player, and bang average super middleweight boxer. My only hope is that one day we have all of the Lithgo clan back under the collective banner of Seaton Carew RUFC, although we may need to significantly invest in our CCTV and probably hire a bouncer.

Our 8th inductee is more of a mythical beast ,with a lovely laugh, than a mere man. Murry Stockdale.
... Murry's destructive power has gained him notoriety throughout the Durham and Northumberland rugby community. He's the guy every member of the opposition look for during the warm up and the one they all try to avoid during the game. His ability to score tries is only rivalled by his ability to neck pints. A giant on the rugby field and a gentleman off it, Murry Stockdale is a true rugby player and a Seaton Carew legend.

Team of the decade 2010-20 Back row
Our 7th inductee is the all action, massive armed, school boy legged Al Ainsley.
... From the first moment I saw Alan, marauding across the plains of Seaton Carew’s pitch, I knew life would never be the same. I’ve spent countless Saturday afternoons chasing after Al for 7 years, having to leap over the piles of bodies he’s left in his wake. He is an absolutely horrible rugby player, but a brilliant bloke. Leading by example as an amazing captain and always conducting himself as a proper gentleman. It’s been my pleasure to try and keep up with him for last 7 years. Now he’s just coming back from a massive leg break, I might get close. Is it appropriate to say we all fancy him?

Our 6th inductee is our hard hitting former captain Kev Tumilty.
... I’ve played most of my senior Rugby with Tummers as we are the same age and came into the first team about the same time. For me Tummers is everything you want in a back row player, great tackler good ball carrier and exceptional on the floor often winning turnovers! His best position is number 6 but his versatility is 2nd to none as he can play 6/7/8 and is even a very good hooker! One of the best players I’ve ever played with trained with and Toured with! Magnet and steel!

Our 5th inductee is a man who, as much as we all love him, we’re really scared of, Vince Lithgo.
... One of the best players the club has ever had and one of the best coaches. It just shows how much of an animal he is, to get into the team of the decade when he was 48 at the start of the decade and played the last game of the decade at 58. The club owes him a lot. For helping us out this season and for continuing to put us younger lads to shame.
Cameron Lithgo (Our fly half, Vince’s first born and heir to his kingdom)
Vince Lithgo is one of the best players the club has had. He’s helped out a lot in the last few years when we have been short. He’s also payed my subs aswell which has done me a massive favour. Although being an older player it doesn’t show as he puts us all to shame and helps the team push on in games. The club owes him a lot for the service he has provided.
Jack Lithgo (Our winger, 2nd born son and heir to nothing)

Team of the decade 2010-20 2nd row
Our 4th inductee is the long limbed enforcer (KitKat) Lee Kidson.
... Lee is probably my favourite player to play with, ever. I’ve never seen anyone look so calm on a rugby pitch, yet manage to hurt so many people at the same time. Always the first there if anyone’s in a bit of bother, he’s rescued me from a battering a few times. I’ve seen him train about 4 times in 7 years and he’s still fitter than most of us. There are louder players, faster players, fitter players and stronger players. But KitKat never takes a step backwards and causes more bother than any of them. That’s why he’s my favourite.
Liam Savage (1st team captain)
For the record; Lee received more votes than any other player for our team of the decade.

Our 3rd inductee is a man with a chest forged from adamantium steel and T-bone steak, Gareth Ruddock.
... What can I say about Gareth ‘Buffa’ Ruddock? There are countless things that could be said about Buffa, but I feel the best way to describe him is to compare him to Groot.
Like Groot, Buffa is loyal to the cause and his friends and you can always count on him when you need him. He doesn’t always think things through but still manages to get the job done and always has a smile on his face no matter what. Both are built like trees, with one actually being a tree, with their thick frames built from the ground up and the strength of a thousand men! They also share the same intelligence and vocabulary limitations too, with both only knowing 3 words. Where as Groot’s ‘I am Groot’ is rather infectious and grows on you, you can’t help to feel a little bit of sick come up every time you hear ‘Buffa’s back baby’.

Our 2nd inductee is the forever young and endlessly wonderful Chris Lithgo.
... What can one say about the enigma that is Chris Lithgo. Born from his father's sexual relationship with a tackle pad he would go on to become perhaps the greatest Lithgo representative this club has ever seen. His work rate knows no equal, his ferocity is unmatched and his skill set is not that of a front rower, but that of a complete rugby player. Moreover, he is one of the nicest guys the sport has ever seen. The Spiderpig is in my opinion one of, if not the greatest player this club has ever had. I only hope that he will continue to wear the colours of Carew for many more years.

Your first inductee is the conventionally handsome Graham Wilson.
... Like a true Wilson, Graham plays with his heart. Always willing to lead the fight to the competition and in some cases his own team mates. A late comer to the game having learned the error of his ways, playing with round balls, he is lightning quick for a fat lad and a monster in the scrums. His clear DN1 calibre is there for all to see, hopefully we'll get him back in maroon and gold sometime soon.
