This Sunday at 2pm another free kids film is on the big screen. Sundays are family days at Star & Shadow! In February, we'll be offering FREE kids' films (all rated U or PG) every Sunday afternoon at 2pm. We can't announce here what we're showing, but trust us, they'll be enjoyable for kids and adults alike! Warm up in the café with coffee, cake, or a toastie, play games in the cosy corner, and have a fun afternoon with the whole family.
We are winners in the sustainability category of the Lord Mayor's Design Awards. Thank you to the judges and congratulations to the other winners and nominees.
If you haven't visited us recently then do drop by our #awardwinning building. We've loads on this weekend including a UK film premier and a techno night later this evening, and our cafe and family film club on Sunday.

TONIGHT - a sonic and sculptural clashing of time, archeology and geology drawn from below the foundations of our old building by Dawn Felicia Knox and Marek Gabrysch
At the end of this month we will be running three days of events to celebrate the work of the major South African artist William Kentridge. There is a cracking preview of the weekend in Only in Newcastle that is well worth spending a moment of your time to read. It's also a nice reminder that the Star and Shadow is a completely volunteer run organisation.

There are many ways to get a better understanding of how the Star and Shadow operates. One way is to attend the Open Meeting scheduled 7 Monday’s per annum. Starts at 6pm tomorrow evening Monday 3rd February. Everyone is welcome.
The carrots and onions in our ‘slaw come from NEOG North East Organic Growers. They do a veg box scheme.
The stotties we sell in our cafe come from Big River Bakery. Down the road in Shieldfield!
Thanks to everyone who came along to help with work in the garden today. It was good to see faces both old and new. Even the weather turned out well after a wet start. Check out our website for upcoming gardening sessions.
Did you just leave this behind at the family film screening?
