Summerfield Holiday Cottages Description
Three Holiday Cottages and Luxury Holiday Home with scenic views of Whitby Abbey, Sea and Esk Valley. Set in tranquil surroundings but within 2 miles of Whitby Town centre. Named after prominent Whitby Families (Albany, Scoresby and Cholmley) the cottages are 4 star rated and two have facilities for disabled and older people with groundfloor bedroom and bathrooms all have upstairs bathrooms some en suite making them Ideal for care parties. All our cottages have ceiling hoists in the ground floor bedrooms and we can provide a portable hoist for the Holiday home. We also have a range of specialist daily living equipment available to hire including profiling beds with pressure relief matresses. Please call for details or to discuss your specialist requirements.

anyone with a dissability this is a perfect place to stay totally suiable for all regardless of dissability . lovely and clean spacious cottages nothing is a problem for the owners , you get a warm welcome and even the table is set for an afternoon cuppa on arrival !!! wonderfull x
We've just returned from a 2 week stay in one of the properties on Summerfield Farm. We chose the mobile home. It's totally perfect for a wheelchair user. The privacy was perfect - despite being close to the farmhouse & the disabled friendly cottages - hedgerows ensured privacy. The decked area offered superb views of this beautiful part of Yorkshire, even the Abbey was visible!
I know only too well how misleading properties stating disabled friendly can be, but you need not have any concerns with any of Summerfield Farms properties as they have been designed with great knowledge, consideration & attention to detail to meet the needs of their disabled clients & their families. The mobile home, Abbey View, is totally accessible, & at 35 foot long it's spacious & enjoys a well designed wet room, 2 twin bedrooms & a private garden in addition to a decked area. Even the rotary washing line is wheelchair user height! But it's not just about disabilities... these properties bear no similarity to a hospital room, they're truly cosy & homely. Nothing is too much trouble here.... need some specialist equipment? .... give them notice & they'll hire it ready for your arrival. Still unsure, contact them!
We had a great holiday and we enjoyed seeing the horse's my grandson and family had a fab time in the cottage we shall see if we can call in in October .Hopefully we shall come and stop again .
Thank you to Jayne and Richard for a great w.end .it was my husband's first time away after his stroke he's in a wheelchair now and we managed fine.The facilities were 1st class.We had children with us and they enjoyed it too especially the horses.Hugo still talks about them!

Spent a great few days in Scoresby cottage and we were able to see friends and family I hadn't seen since I was in hospital. Extremely accessible for wheelchair users and very friendly staff. We will definitely return
On Behalf of mark and judith Paterson we all had a lovely time staying in Scoresby cottage we could not fault it at all. Everything that we needed was there and ready for us. The only fault was the weather which was out of jane and richards hands. We would deffinatly reccomend staying there and will be back next year.
My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous week with the lovely Jayne and Richard at Summerfield in Scoresby Cottage. My wife is wheelchair bound and the cottage really meets our needs & additional equipment is readily available if required. This is our 2nd visit and we have just booked our next holiday in the newly extended Albany Cottage. The cottages are in excellent condition and nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble. Make a booking and enjoy your surroundings.
Loved our stay here Jayne and Richard were so nice had all the equipment we needed and a nice pub not 2 far away outstanding for people who need a hoist me and my friends can't. Wait to go back for new years eve
Just spent a wonderful sunny week in Albany Cottage with my parents - both mid-eighties and not as mobile as they used to be - this cottage was the ideal choice! With welcoming hosts, wonderful facilities for the elderly and/or disabled, and a wealth of things to do close by we had a brilliant week. Thank you Jayne and Richard, we loved our stay!
Just returned from spending 6 nights at Summerfield cottages with our very large family. It was absolutley brilliant - the cottages were spacious, extremely clean, well thought out and maintained for disabled people (my mum being in a wheelchair had all she needed to make her stay comfortable), the garden area was lovely for replaxing and socialising with the whole family (we even got to meet the 2 horses, which made my 2 young boys day) and richard, Jane and bob were very accommodating, friendly and worked extremely hard to ensure our stay was great (little touches were appreciated such as the chalk board being updated every day with good suggestions of things to do, fresh home grown plums put out for us and generally friendliness from them all). I would highly recommend staying at these cottages and the caravan and only being 5 minutes or so in the car away from whitby was good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you ��
If your visiting Yorkshire this year or any year come to that and want a place to stay you can do no better than to visit Jayne and Richard at Summerfield Cottages.
They are excellent hosts plus have everything for elderly and disabled people. We have been many times and can find no fault, in fact could well be going back some time. lovely area, lovely place ,lovely people.
Had a wonderful Christmas week in Chomley Cottage. Absolutely everything you could want is in this cottage and it was spotlessly clean. Ideal location for getting out and about to the moors and coast. Thank You Jayne and Richard. Hope to stay again during summertime.
Had a fantastic week. Lorraine and Paula love the time spent in your cottage each year. My mum and I slept well

Great accommodation, spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our stay. The owners were friendly and helpful - and Richard gave our 8 year old son a ride on the quad bike, much to his delight.
Excellent , always a bit apprehensive when going somewhere on holiday . did not need to be at Summerfield cottages , we stayed in Abbey View chalet . my wife sheila has a stroke affecting fully down her left side . plenty of room getting around , the bathroom was surprisingly a good size .
Everything we needed was laid on for self catering , the decking was great and the garden easy access , a nice private spot .
Others could learn a lot from the high standard set here for disabled and mobility issues .
Just a short distance from Whitby which is brilliant .

Cottage is beautiful .. The outlook is beautiful complete with two horses that are in the field just over the gate. The grounds and cottage were spotless on arrival a fully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need from cooking a family Roast to making a beautiful flan .. The owners Jayne and Richard are so kind and welcoming with teapot and homemade cakes on the table when we arrived .. the cottage deserves its 4 stars and we shall definitely be coming back!!! Thankyou Jayne and Richard and your five beautiful dogs.
Carol and the boys have just got back from a 5 night stay in Albany. It was beautiful and peaceful and the cottage was so lovely and warm. The log burner was put to good use. The new bedroom and wet room were spectacular for our disabled son. And it was great to catch up with Jayne , Richard and Bob.
