It is with deep sadness to announce that my very much loved Mam, Mary, sadly passed away on Thursday 5th July 2018.
Mary started the business in 1964 as a retailer of baby wear based in Hylton Road, Sunderland, and over the years progressed in to Bridal wear. Susans Bridal continues to be a family owned business after 54 years of trading.
Many of you will have known Mary from the shop, which she loved and worked hard at through the years. Mary’s health deteriorated over the... past several years, but I know she would have liked to have thanked all the customers who have supported us throughout the years.

What lovely ladies in this shop, we went in last week for a prom dress for my daughter and they put us at ease immediately and we're so helpful. We found the dress she wanted and ordered it on Monday afternoon, I had collected it by the Tuesday afternoon, I can't thank them enough x

Susan's wedding shop is amazing! The right level of service and no snobbery here. They made me feel like I was shopping with friends but gave the right level of service. I went abroad for my wedding and they packed/ steamed my dress into a case. They also cleaned and steamed my dress ready for when I got home for my uk party. The service didn't stop once I bought my dress and even now I feel I could pop in to see the girls. A brilliant shop!

So many of my customers have brought wedding dresses from this shop the quality is amazing, they really do know how to make a dress fit perfectly will continue to recommend this shop to my customers.

I would recommend this shop to everyone, I got my beautiful wedding dress from here 10 years ago, I went in not knowing what I really wanted and the staff were fantastic and showed me what they thought I would suit, I tried a few dresses on and then fell in love with mine, excellent value too. Then we also bought my daughter's prom dress from here too.

I can’t recommend Susan’s Bridal enough! Their shop is gorgeous, the moment you walk through the doors your greeted by warm and amazing friendly staff as well as stunning dresses. The staff and service is second to none, we were clueless and went looking for bridesmaids dresses for six women (all different shapes and heights which can be a nightmare!), the advice and recommendations from the women in the shop were unbelievable, down to what styles would flatter a wide variety of body shapes and what we should stay clear of, they make you feel comfortable and confident whilst trying on dresses and making your choice. As well as alteration advice and what underwear we should be wearing, everything you could possibly need or think of!!! We have travelled all over the north east in search of the perfect dress and instead we have end up falling in love with the perfect shop, perfect service and perfect staff who are actually ordering our dresses especially for us as they don’t stock it! They have gone above and beyond and it has been an absolute pleasure shopping with them! We can’t wait for our dresses and fittings, I genuinely can’t thank you enough!!!!

Found my dream dress on Saturday, after searching for the Morilee designer that I love I travelled to Susan's to see it in the flesh and I was Wowed. The lovely ladies dressed me & made me feel amazing, literally could not stop smiling, I brought my 3 yr old daughter along with me and she was made to feel at home, lovely child friendly bridal shop with a lovely feel of friendliness. Already recommended to bride to be's that I know. Can't wait to come back and try it on again whilst waiting for mine to arrive. I will be coming back with family �
