What a great place. Looks good, feels good and sounds good (Boys in Brass).

Went the tannery last week with the kids, it was fab, the new owner really made us feel super welcome, a lush proper cool pub. Very excited to see what he does with it, not just one to watch one to go to time and time again x

Took the dog out for a treat last night and had some of the best food going , the burger's were spot on and what can I say about the drinks what a selection of ciders and ales will be back :)

My first visit and atmosphere was great a real friendly buzz about the place . fantastic local beer .quenched the thirst before and after the fireworks . Highly recommend the burger with chile and jalepenos yummy is understated . Anyway a visit well worth a surprised return :)

Menu came across as simple pub food. However once you see the smaller details you realise it is not. This was by far the best burger and fries I have ever had. So many amazing flavours. Portion size was spot on for a foody like me. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend this place and it was definitely worth a 39 mile drive :)

Having just consumed the Cajun chicken burger, I can wholeheartedly say that I’ve never had such delicious food served by such friendly staff!! They’re great with my little boy and nothing is too much for them! 100% recommend!!

Friendly staff. Free wifi. Dog friendly.... including dog beer and menu. No menus on show but available on request. Went late for sunday lunch. Large portions. Fresh veg (lovely)plus an extra portion of gravy... nice touch. Got to meet the chef . All herbs freshly picked from the garden...personally saw him pick. Really nice beer garden too. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent place beer great staff and atmosphere fantastic all very clued up on their beer. Well worth the trail up from Newcastle for it. Had a few visits to Brandling Villa their sister pub in Gosforth so knew what to expect.

Dropped in for a bite to eat on sunday and was not disappointed, food was excellent and so was the welcome. Nice atmosphere in this pub. Deffo calling again but next time I will not have anything to eat before hand as the meals are huge. Extra gravy with the Sunday lunch is a nice touch and homemade chips with the burgers are a welcome comfort food (can't beat homemade chips). Keep up the good work. Cracking menu too.

Cracking little boozer, great staff, food (burgers served in proper bread rather than brioche), beer, and music. Shame we found out it is due to close soon.

Called in Friday night with our two dogs while on a brief caravan holiday. Great food and beer and great atmosphere. Now planning a return visit by end of month

Been a few times and the staff, drinks and food is always wonderful � great selection of drinks including local beers, ciders etc. The food was amazing, great choice from a great Geordie style menu and it even caters for dogs �� great value for money and a lovely atmosphere as always.

Loved it, friendly staff who had time for a chat & give us a bit of a history lesson. No rip off cost for drinks, nice menu, well worth a visit �just upped it to 5 stars after returning & ordering the cheeseboard & chunky chips which was flipping fantastic, beer garden is very impressive which was done by the very green fingered Michelle x

Great, great beer selection, lovely building, friendly barman....but...despite advertising food from 12-9, it took until we tried to order food for them to tell us the kitchen wasn't open until later on in the day. At that point, the menus on every table were removed...
