Our Silversmithing and Jewellery Making class in Sunderland is currently low on numbers for the approach to the Summer term.
If you know anyone that might be interested, please share this with them and we'll hopefully get to minimum numbers!
... In order to keep it running, we've compromised in the number of sessions available - if we get close to minimum numbers, we'll run with 8 sessions instead of our usual 10; still great value for money! When we get to minimum numbers, the class will be extended to the full 10 sessions.

*** SHOP CLOSURE - IMMEDIATE EFFECT ***
It is with deep regret that we announce the closure of our shop today, Saturday 20th June 2015.
Due to poor trading conditions, we are unable to financially justify keeping our shop open and will be closing the retail area indefinitely from around 1pm today (Saturday 20th June) onward. This has been a difficult decision to make and is one that we have been delaying for several months while we have tried various options to attempt to rev...erse the situation.
We will be continuing to offer classes and workshops pending further review and these are still available to purchase through our web shop, but our tools, equipment and gemstones have been made unavailable for purchase until we have completed our internal review and decided on a way forward. This process can take several months so we ask for your patience and to keep an eye on the front page of our website or our Facebook page for updates.
We thank those that have visited our workshop and shop for your custom and wish you all the best for the future.

Kayleigh - great to see!

We've got some engraveable pen/tablet stylus combos available for customised engraving! These work with many different phones and tablets, and you can even write with them!

Finishing a commission can be extremely satisfying, particularly when the journey to completion has been an arduous one - and this certainly has.
We're quite pleased with the result; the bail has been rivetted in place to ensure the front and back pieces can move independently but are both secure and the casting went perfectly the first time!

We're celebrating the upcoming publication of a second Silversmithing Masterclass with Make & Sell Jewellery Magazine by launching the project as a full standalone workshop.

Our engraving service is now available and we can engrave most graphics and text into flat or slightly curved pieces such as pendants, brooches, signet rings, phone backs and rings.
You can take a look at some of our sample engraving in the pictures.
We can also offer a drawing engraving service - designs can be drawn on our engraving tablet and transferred directly to the piece to be engraved - a great Mother's Day gift idea!

During the workshop you can make each other a ring to signify the bond and love between you, guided by our excellent Tutors. We'll provide the materials, tools, tea and coffee - you just have to turn up and have a great time together.

Phew, just completed a solder repair to a trophy...
Very thin metal through age, and had been damaged by someone else attempting to repair it 'in class' with a mess of solder on the side, plus a partial melt.
I was definitely concerned that it wouldn't go, or worst case might end up with further melt.
... Now that I can breathe again, on to the next stage!
