The Akenside Traders is a traditional pub in the heart of Newcastle's beautiful Quayside. We offer a value for money drink and food menu in pleasant surroundings. We are a great venue to watch your favourite sporting event as we have 2 big screens and 10 plasma screens. Stags and hens love the Akenside as we have a relaxed atmosphere and we love a bit of fun! ! Saturday night is party night with a live DJ playing your requests and dedications! !

What a great night had by all last night thanks very much to the great service from the Akenside staff. We'll be back.
Went in with a Group of 12 ordered repeated big rounds of drink and an obscene amount of food. All of the drinks came out perfectly, the Bartender was outstanding. The food came out on time and was incredible. Perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. If I had a 'con' to subject this bar to... It would be that it's serious hard to get the Beef Burnt End Pizza out of my head... That thing was incredible.

The refurb looks absolutely fantastic! It gives it a modern quirky edge but still with the atmosphere of a classic pub. Can't wait to come back.
The akenside is the best spot to be even on a staff nite out, the staff were polite pleasant and friendly, food was super and the atmosphere was amazing, I enjoy my time at the akenside very much give em 5 stars all the way
Popped in for a drink. Always liked the atmosphere of this place it has only just opened after recent makeover and it looks amazing. Staff always friendly. Haven't eaten here but looked at the menu and had all the pub favourites, also noticed they do Tapas so will definitely try that next time.

Came to Newcastle from N Wales with my son both mad Newcastle fans. Spent Friday and Saturday night in the Akenside, didnt bother going anywhere else as it was brilliant here. Great staff, drinks, music and pool, two great nights and I am 57 and my Son is 23. Look forward to visiting again.
Brillian atmosphere, top banter with management and the staff, top food, and a great pint, want for nothing, will be back

When working away we always drink and eat here.only let down no porka burger on a Tuesday.last 3 times now did not have all ingredients. Co.e on get it sorted
Its a really nice pub the only dissapointing bit was the pub was supposed to open at 10am for brecky we got there at quarter to 10 waited till half 10 still never opened the bar staff could see wr were waiting to come inside for breakfast and they just carried on shuf not advertise to open at that time if u no intention of letting people in its called customer care well it is were we come from

Great to find somewhere showing the Leeds v Boro game being a smoggy and living in such a hardcore NUFC toon :) The bar staff are really canny, helpful and friendly, they turned the sound up when I asked so happy days. We had bottled lager and pints of Amstel, decent price and we also had food, I got nachos which were tasty but basic and over priced imo @ £6:99, my friend had quorn sausages, mash and mushy peas in gravy and she really enjoyed hers and very reasonably priced at £5:99. We also had a game of pool, the cues need replacing but all in all a good time and I’d go back.
Went yesterday with my friend and our children. Ordered food which can only be described as disgusting! It was over cooked to the point you couldnt even bite into it. The glasses were all covered in lipstick and the staff were terrible no check back, or even cleared our plates without being prompted. My friend complained and the managers attitude was as if he didnt care and only refunded a fraction of the cost to which was roughly placed on the table. Never again will we go back there.
We went to watch the footie. Staff were friendly, food was hot. On the downside came away with chewing gum stuck to trousers from under the table! Yuck.

One of the biggest & most popular bars on Quayside & they didn't even have any Jack Daniels. Hells bells man. PATHETIC.

Worst run pub I've ever come across and staff are very rude. Assistant manager would rather chat up young girls then serve customers, and management is very poor. If I could give minus stars I would!!
Sat for 30 minutes for food to be told lost my order. Had to leave as only had 30 mins lunch to take. Not a good start for a new day.
Rubbish ! We went there last night, a group of 9 friends in their late 40,s early 50,s, and although the drinks were ok the toilets were disgusting. One of our group went to the loo but was prevented from closing the cubicle door by door staff ! Is it against the law to want privacy in the toilet ? Total infringement of his human rights , we will never go back there
Needs a dam good clean and a lot of money spent on it, and the music was terrible
