About The Bell Guesthouse
The Bell Guesthouse is a friendly, family run coach style pub and guesthouse. We take pride in offering excellent customer service and making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
The Bell Guesthouse Description
A warm welcome awaits you at The Bell Guesthouse located in Horden, County Durham.
The site was acquired and built in 1925 by Henry Bell. The Bell has recently gone under extensive refurbishment throughout, whilst retaining the original open fires places to relax and unwind.
The Bell provides a comfortable base for exploring the North East of England. In 30 minutes’ drive you can be in the beautiful Durham dales, North Yorkshire moors and the North hills of Northumberland.

If you Love shopping or sight seeing there’s an array to choose from Hartlepool and the historic Quay, Dalton Park to the bridges in Sunderland. The historical city of Durham with its impressive Cathedral, Castle and the River Wear to Newcastle city centre and the Metro centre.

We are a stone’s throw away from the commercial business parks which house major companies Walkers Crisps, Caterpillar, TRW to name a few and various call centres.

had a little reunion over brekkie on Sunday. we were very loud so sorry to any others who'd popped in for theirs. bell staff were great, friendly and did all they could to keep everyone happy

The Bell Guesthouse is a fantastic place to hold an event or even just popping in for a drink. The bar staff are so lovely and accommodating. A big thank you to you all for Beth's baby shower yesterday. It was an amazing day xx
Stayed here 1 night and attended the New Year's Eve party. Very friendly welcome by receptionist Kim. The room was lovely and well equipped. The bathroom was luxurious. Huge bed extremely comfortable.
Delicious cooked breakfast, freshly made to order by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. If you are looking for a place to stay near Durham this place is highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our night last night cosy by the fire with nibbles and beautiful music by young musician laura finken well done xx
Nice Xmas afternoon tea. The staff were attentive and friendly. Nice surroundings for an afternoon with a real fire burning. Would highly recommend.
My son and I came to the bell yesterday for good Friday fish and chips .
Service was prompt and friendly , food was delicious . The batter on the fish was lovely . Portion size was very generous especially since we both opted for the small fish and chips . We both really enjoyed our visit and were pleasantly surprised with our bill .excellant value for money .

My daughter Emma bought me a mothers day cream tea it was absolutly gorgeous can't wait for Easter all booked in can't wait perfect food perfect service well done made my day special xx
Lovely place, good quality clean hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Good choice of drinks at the bar and also reasonably priced. Had to leave for work at half 6 and breakfast doesn't start till 8 so they sorted us a breakfast hamper to take with us would definitely stop here again 10/10

Hidden gem in a community that once thrived in a mining community friendly staff breakfast is to die for worth the 3.95 pittance of a price 4.95 with refillable coffee beautifull well run pub and guesthouse

Had my partners 60th birthday party and it was excellent. Kim was brilliant she also arranged DJ (who was excellent) and the catering. The food was outstanding and everyone commented on how brilliant it was and so much variety of food at a very good price. The function room is beautiful and all the staff excellent. I would highly recommend the Bell for any type of party.

Called in for breakfast on recommendation, I wasn't disappointed. There was a coal fire burning brightly in the room which gave off a homely feel. A very clean dining room & very attentive waitress. The full English breakfast was perfect & the coffee excellent, free refills. I would highly recommend The Bell.
