An amazing night last night with the top three bands from Newcastle upon Tyne Royal Grammar School’s 2018 Battle of the Bands competition playing at The Globe.
A full house enjoyed listening to some amazing talent. So much so that one of the bands, Runners impressed us sufficiently to have secured themselves a support slot with GLOO on 21st August.
A big thanks to all the bands; The Roanoakes, Dahlia and Runners, the schools they represented; Newcastle upon Tyne Royal Gramma...r School, Emanuel College and Duchess’s Community High School. And of course a huge thank you to everyone who came down and supported the bands!

Tonight at The Globe - Lockdown - Rock/Metal Night with some special guests!

User

What a week we have lined up for you lovely lot!
This evening sees our long running, folk and acoustic open mic/drop in in the main bar, whilst jazz jam session and social, Take it to the Bridge occupy the Jazz Bar.
Tomorrow, we welcome some fantastic bands made up of young musicians who were placed in the top three at this year’s Newcastle upon Tyne Royal Grammar School Battle of The Bands, representing Emmanuel College, RGS and Alnwick’s Duchess’s Community High School. Sta...rs of the future, there is no doubt.
On Friday, things take a turn for the heavy with Lockdown - Rock/Metal Night whilst on Saturday, it all gets especially dark with Noircastle club night, catering for lovers of goth, post punk, electro and alternative sounds.
Finally, on Sunday, Jazz.Coop welcome back to The Globe, hugely popular, local jazz musician Francis Tulip with his band - an excellent crowd will no doubt be guaranteed, once again.

'Folk music for twisted souls' coming all the way from Regina, Canada, to The Globe, Newcastle on Saturday 28 July. Sinister and addictive. You've been warned.

Newcastle-based, indie rock outfit, Save The Bees return to The Globe following two packed out gigs at the venue in 2017 to showcase their new EP, due for release in early August.
The guys will be taking time out following this gig, so it could be your last chance for a while to see one of the most engaging bands we've ever hosted.
Blast Beach, formed in late 2016 are four talented and passionate musicians, playing an ear grabbing blend of radio friendly, emotive guitar lines... and stirring melodies.

Rising talent from the North East music scene comes together as the top three placed bands in 2018's Battle of the Bands, held at Royal Grammar School, Newcastle showcase their sound at The Globe in a free entry gig.
The bands; Roanoakes, Dahlia and Runners all feature excellent, young musicians who belie their ages and have honed their skills to produce some incredible and individual music that spans various genres.
Representing Duchess Community High School, Alnwick, Royal ...Grammar School, Newcastle and Emmanuel College, Gateshead, the bands faced very strong competition from some highly accomplished bands and musicians to finish in the top three.
We predict big things for these guys and now is your opportunity to listen to and witness some of the best music that the region is producing.

Had a lovely night. Bar staff were fabulous. Such a friendly relaxed bar. Went to watch a band the Zu Zu Cats. People miss this bar because it is just a little further out. If you are visiting the Arena or Newcastle College then its ideal. Would have put something on Tripadvisor but could not find the venue on there.

Good beer, good music, good people, what more can you ask for on a night out?

Having said that.... your personal taste in music makes a difference of course so, make sure you pick the night where your genre(s) is being played.

User

First visit to The Globe to see Brian Molley and his band. Fantastic night, and it was also great chatting to some of the founders of The Globe at the end of the evening; we were hugely impressed with their dedication to live music & will definitely be back!

User

First time here last week, lovely down to earth staff, good venue, chilled and I even went back last night before the A7x gig! Found my new hiding place :D

Went to visit on bank on business as I have an up-coming show taking place at The Globe. It looks like a good, clean venue, toilets were decent, friendly staff & I was able to look round the venue easily & imagine what the event will look like on the night. Hoping it all goes smoothly on the 18th!

User

Quick service, considering the place was packed, due to the darts being on at the arena.

Beer was canny too.

User

Just called in before the Script at the Arena. Stopped for a couple of hours. Very friendly, quick service. Class decor
