We have just had a lovely afternoon having Sunday Lunch to celebrate our parent's Diamond Wedding Anniversary. We decided to go there because we knew we would enjoy a lovely meal in a lovely relaxed armosphere. We couldn't have asked for more. The service couldn't have been more attentive , the food was lovely and they went that extra mile to make sure our celebration was made special. Including a lovely cake made by the chef. Thank you to you all for a lovely afternoon

User

Good food and friendly staff and management! Make me feel at home when working away. I am a happy guest!

User

Went for a family meal there were 18 of us. Booked a family member to stay over night. They said the room was basic and dirty no excuse. We all got served at different times so some people were eating while others weren't. Food wasn't the best won't be back that's for sure.

User

Spent the afternoon with two of my girlfriends yesterday and one of their kids.

The service was really good! The lady who served us and looked after us was very accommodating and friendly. Cannot fault our service. The wait was little long but we were having a fabulous catch up and giggle so wasn't too bad and actually the lady was very kind to let us order from the evening menu as we didn't fancy anything from the lunch menu, so we took that into consideration for the waiting time! The food was nice and the seafood platter looked gorgeous. I had the mussels which were nice but the white wine sauce was a little bland my only pick up. The exterior and inside of the pub is so lovely and I will go back.

Me and 2 friends have just had an absolutely gorgeous 3 course meal. The Thai fish cake starter was as good as any I have eaten in Thailand. Service was great. Really can’t fault it and we will definitely be back soon .

I am writing this as a 75-year old man in Warwickshire, who was brought up as a young boy in Milburn Terrace, Stakeford. I have no memories of The Half Moon internally but remember The Half Moon as a "landmark" on my way to school in Guidepost... a landmark of happy memories before emigrating to Central Africa for further schooling and graduation with my BSc from University College or Rhodesia & Nyasaland... memories which will remain with me for my life! Happy Days!

User

Waited an hour and a half last night for our meals. Only two members of staff serving all night at the bar and the food. Shame on the waiting time as the food was beautiful once it arrivied.

User

Service at the cavrey not good . The lad kept wiping his hands in his trousers and replacing crumpled up tin foil over the meat . Very strict 2 small pieces of meat with medium carvery . One of our party who had large meal ask for another Yorkshire pudding and was told he couldn't because we have been busy today . It was 1445 and carvrey was supposed to be on until 1700 . Won't rush back .

Went yesterday for lunch with my sister in law, my son and my nephew, we ordered 2 beef baguettes and 2 childrens burger meals at 1.15pm. At 2.00pm we were still waiting, the boys became irritable so were then told lunch would be 5 minutes. 20 minutes later it arrived, 1 burnt baguette, the other fine but barely hot, 1 burger fine and the other burnt so bad i could barely cut it never mind my son eat it!! We spoke to the lady who took our plates away and told her our concerns "oh ill let the chef know" was her reply, she then disappeared and that was that!!! Absolutely disgusting service!!!! To serve a burger in that state to a child is simply appauling!! I will never be revisiting nor will i recommend your pub to anyone!!!!!

User

Visited today, not busy (3 adults at 1 table and 2 adults 1 child at the other) we waited 1 hour for 2 beef baguettes and 2 children's burger and chips, the only other food to come out of the kitchen in that time was for 1 other table then 45 minutes after theirs ours arrived 1 burnt burger and 1 burnt baguette, when we expressed our disappointment she said she'd tell the chef, no apologises, nothing. Shame is its quite local and could have been a regular place to grab lunch but I won't b revisiting!

User

Had a bad experience waited over an hour for our meal there was only one other table with customers .no coffee machine on then waitress said potatoe salad was on its way out so many times we were going to walk out it was cold in the restaurant ate with our coats on and was only informed that the oven wasn't working when we went to pay the bill we should have been informed about the problems instead of leaving us sitting all that time

User

For my daughters birthday we came today for food and to celebrate. We were informed we had to order meals by 2 o’clock which we did. Meals came and to be fair they were fine, but really disappointed with service. One waitress on who’s customer service was not what we expected. Also we then tried to order puddings and was informed chef had gone home so they couldn’t serve us. This is the second time we have been and been disappointed by service. We will not be back and this was very disappointing for my daughter. There isn’t many pubs around and this isn’t what I would expect from this type of establishment.

Booked a table for 3.30 we were told we were on table 9 the lady told us the table was been prepared for us we were a bit early had planned on a pre dinner drink we sat st a table in the bar which had no signs on she said I will just check that the table is free, she said oh that's ok you can sit there till 4 pm the table was next to a window sill with lots of kids box games we decided to go and sit on our reserved table only to find a small dog sitting on our table now don't get me wrong I love dogs but the couple sitting on the next table kept the little dog in the corner , we then had to endure them both chewing meat then giving it to the dog then staring at me eric and Catherine they then proceeded to feed it ice cream eating the waver then giving the other half to the dog this is not want I want to see on the next table when oot for me Sunday lunch

Went in August 2015 for my birthday and under new management ! Spent nearly £200 on our meal , bar staff were friendly but the manageress had a very cold stuck up attitude , put it down to newly taking over and stress ! .... It is our local and just returned from another try (Xmas eve ) spent over £100 and the same manageress looked and spoke to us like she was something we trod in ! All 6 of our company though the same ! Shame as it is a lovely pub but spoilt by this stuck up attitude who forgets it's us that pay their wages !

User

Went for Christmas dinner or should I say tea as it was tea time before we was served a cold Christmas dinner

We was told dinner would be served at 1pm starter didn't get served till after 1.45 we waited that long for dinner we ended up playing with the games that was there service was really bad was still sitting there at 4pm had to make our own coffee no Yule log offered and was on the menu there was 7 of us at £50. Each never again will I ever step foot in that place again shocking never even got a apology

Please don't spend your hard earned money there McDonald's service is better

User

On Friday 13th July I went to the half moon with 2 friends to use the facilities as there was no where else to go without being cut short we were nothing but respectful and quiet. Upon coming out of the toilets we were met with 3 bar staff who were generally rude and disrespectful to 3 teenagers who had no where else to go we can honestly say we did not see the sign that said only guests could use the toilets or we would have gone elsewhere but even in that case we were asked what we're we having to drink in a nasty manner and almost shouted at this is truly not acceptable and I will never go to the half moon again

User

Managers in the place let the pub down very rude and takes over 1 hour to get drinks and find out if you’ve got a table to sit at. Let’s the pub down as the Sunday dinners are lovely. This has happened every time we’ve gone in always the same people. Ended up walking out today and eating somewhere else.

User

I went for the first time on Thursday we arrived at 12.15 ordered food which arrived after 1pm !! Service was terrible the pub is lovely but there is no atmosphere, staff didn't seem to know much about menu. When Burger arrived it was burnt on the bottom . The following day I was severely ill with a upset stomach which lasted well into Saturday :/ I can only presume it was the food as I hadn't eaten anything different. First and last time, won't be going back and definately won't be recommending.
