Went for a family birthday meal this afternoon, and I had the chicken Parmesan and it was absolutely superb, would recommend it to anyone who has a taste for Parmo's.

We had our Wedding reception here at the weekend, Saturday, can't thank you enough for the excellent service from booking to the actual day, nothing was too much trouble, we had a special menu selected which was printed out for us, tables laid out to our requirement and delicious food cooked to perfection.

Everything was relaxing and informal which is exactly how we wanted it, an intimate gathering of very close friends and family, even the room we were in was reserved just for us with a separate bar area to use.

On arrival we even had some pictures taken in and around the building because it has some beautiful features, will post them when they come through.

Thanks again for helping to make our day special and memorable xx

We decided to go out last minute, went there @ 5 ish last night. Deep fried Brie was lovely & crunchy on the outside & oozed when I cut into it as promised. Onion chutney was good too. My partner had the runny scotch egg & liked it because the sausage tasted nice & the yolk was runny as promsed.

Main course The seafood Risotto was gorgeous though I could have had @ 1/2 portion.

Partner had steak n ale pie with chips & thought portion size was just right & pastry was this & crispy ‘ not soggy’.

We will be returning 👍

Ten of us went for a pre Christmas family meal on Thursday...the week before we sent in a pre order from the Christmas menu...we all chose 3 courses...on the night everything was fab...the food was delicious and the service was fantastic...couldnt fault it and would highly recommend!

User

Lovely meal last night at one of our favourite places. Delicious food and excellent service. And the desserts were to die for. One criticism - please watch your spelling on the specials board

User

Lovely garden area at the back with lots of comfy seating and Parmo for evening meal was really nice. Staff were lovely and friendly, definitely a repeat place to go.

User

Lovely food fantastic service went over and above even given a drink from managements own supply as didn’t stock what asked for

User

Last minute decision for lunch today. Lovely place and food. Great beer garden

User

Just love this place - the food the atmosphere the staff, you can’t fault one thing about it

User

I love this gem of a country pub. Lovely food, amazing cocktails, conscientious staff and a nice environment. Sunday lunches are particularly recommended. Bring on my next visit.

User

Great sunday roast we all had the beef, real meat on a lovely plate of veg. Thank you

User

Booked a table for 7 and table position was great. They catered for all of our requests. I didn't want any potatoes/chips so asked if I could have salad with my veg and that was fine. The food came in a reasonable time and all of us thought that it was nice. I would come back here again.

User

1st time here and what a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere staff lovely and couldn’t fault the food was delicious 😋 will be back and would recommend

User

Lovely meal (slightly over-cooked new potatoes made them a bit too soft). Friendly, cheerful staff . Very nice gin selection

Went with friends 14th October

We were shown to our reserved table allocated table 13 seemed very small when meals were served also directly near to door entrance so lots of people passing through with very little space in between .

Now to the food certainly not impressed I ordered the chicken Diana the presentation of the dish was enough to make me feel sick I couldn't even discribe it supposed to be a Diana sauce it seemed like a thick mushroom soup very tasteless with boiled onions on top and one mushroom sliced

I explained I couldn't eat it and why .

When my husband went to pay the bill

They had removed my meal which was a nice gesture but would not return.

Went for a family meal yesterday and sadly won’t be returning (this used to be somewhere we’d visit for special family meals). We had pre-booked a table a couple of days beforehand and were told where we were to be seated. We all sat down and ordered drinks. Our drinks arrived and THEN we were told there would be a 30-40 minute wait for our food as they had a large party eating. Had we been told this before seating and already having a drink we would have chosen to go elsewhere. Have deciding to stay (because it time and having three hungry children), once we had started to order, we THEN told that they didn’t have any Sunday lunches left. Once we had another look at the menu we were then informed that they did have a few Sunday lunches left!!!! The food ended being ok however the service wasn’t great. We tried some sort of discount (a free desert or a couple of coffees but to no avail. We definitely not be visiting there again which is a real shame as it was always a pleasant place to take the family!

We went for Christmas lunch there yesterday having eaten there before and it being local, I know it must be difficult with huge numbers of customers but the meal was nothing special sadly, the portions were small and at around 50 minutes between courses it appeared a little too much for the chefs and or waiters/waitresses and I would have liked Yorkshire puddings please, I do appreciate it is hard work but that wasn’t £60 worth of lunch

User

Went here for Sunday lunch yesterday. Although we hadn't booked we got a table straight away. The table was so wobbly and we didn't dare move on the chairs they were do fragile. We ordered our lunches and waited an hour (No one informed us there was such a wait on food) when the food come I was flabbergasted. The portions were tiny, my children don't eat meat to do I had asked for mash, Yorkshire puddings and gravy only with 1 having carrots. The mash was so sloppy my children wouldn't eat it. I was asked if the kids would like an extra yorkie ( I wasn't told 8t would be an extra cost for us) the kids plates were bare. We supposedly had a adults dinner which had 1 slice of beef, sloppy mash, 1 yorkie, some carrots, 1 roastie, a stuffing ball and some veg with what can only be described as water with a bit of gravy granuals added. The food it's self was tasteless. We complained to the waitress who informed the manager who told us that's the standard size of the Sunday raosts. I explained the food was tasteless and bland he just said sorry. He said we could have asked for more food. This should be stated clear that the sizes are small. To top it off we paid over £41 for our food which the kids left every bit, to then have to take my kids somewhere else for food as they were starving. I could have went to the Toby carvery, the bridge inn or any other establishment and got a much more better quality dinner probably for less price. Defiantly won't ever be returning here.
