INFORMATION #### People ask what the difference is between fire cupping and normal cupping. Fire is only used to create a suction just like using the cup and pump. There is no different in the actual treatment. One method is not bad or good than another method. The end result is the same when stagnant blood is removed. In my clinic I don't use the fire method. I use the pump with disposable plastic cups. People are often afraid of the pain cupping might cause, but once they h...ave it done on themselves they then realise how pain free the procedure is. Q: Can type 2 diabetes be cured ? A : YES it can be in most cases.This has recently been proven by Prof Taylor of Newcastle University. Most people who have type 2 diabetes are overweight and have fat deposit in there Liver which makes it harder for the Pancras to regulate sugar levels. If one loses weight and gets rid of fat deposit from the liver the Pancras starts to regulate the sugar normally. Hijama therapy can help to reduce fat deposit from the liver. Recently there has been a lot of publicity about Hijama after the Rio Olympics. Some good and some not so good publicity. I would like to assure every one that Hijama is safe and beneficial. It is now recognised and regulated by the Complimentary Medical Association. My advice is that PLEASE check out your Hijama therapist before receiving treatment. Check qualifications and how long they have been practising and the environment they work. Unfortunately at present too many ...unqualified people are calling themselves Hijama Therapists and are making mistakes leading to serious side effects and causing unnecessary complications. There should not be any complications or serious side effect if the therapist is experienced and qualified. Q: What is the difference between wet and dry cupping?
A: Wet cupping is where blood is drawn out from the body using disposable cups. Dry cupping is where no blood is taken out but a deep tissue massage is given using disposable cups. Dry cupping is not as effective as wet cupping but in certain cases wet cupping cannot be done so dry cupping is the next best thing.... Before I advice patients on any treatment I always spend time on thier previous medical history.If they on any kind of medication like blood thinners or they have recently had major surgery then dry cupping is the only treatment recommended. Someone has just returned from Hajj and phoned me to say that they had Hijama done in Saudi and now the areas have gone septic and please could I help as it is very painful ?. My advice is to visit your GP and ask for antibiotics as if the area is infected it will need a course of Antibiotics to cure. This ONLY happens if infected equipment is used or general hygiene is not kept. If anyone is thinking of travelling abroad and thinking of having Hijama therapy done then pleas...e make sure that the person is well qualified and hygiene rules are kept too. In some cases people just set up shop without qualifications or the proper knowledge of what it takes to be a competent Hijama therapist. Please be careful when getting any sort of treatment abroad.
