The Met Lounge & Ballroom

What a wonderful transformation to the Met ballroom! Great accoustics and lighting for bands or discos. Very good service from friendly bar staff.

Also good food, especially the carvery on Sundays!

Went to look at the ballroom as a potential wedding venue. We were early, half the party were still to arrive so we went into the bar for a drink. As soon as we walked in it was so warm and welcoming. The cider was lovely and the landlady so friendly. Once we saw the ballroom we knew this was the place for the wedding. It's absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to go back.

Went the The Met Ballroom last night to watch Mike and the D Tones and what a brilliant night. Also must add what a fantastic job the new Landlords have done to the ballroom, the lighting is amazing making the venue one of if not the best in town for bands, discos, weddings and events. Everywhere was really clean and a great atmosphere created in both bars. Well done, just what the ballroom needed! 5 *

We had a family wedding here 6 February, Chris was extremely helpful in arranging this, he has useful suggestions based on experience of managing previous such events. He was also very open to our own ideas and we had an absolutely wonderful day. Everyone who staffed the event worked very hard with a smile all day - I would recommend it to anyone looking to book a similar event

We as a family group of 5 family members had Sunday Carvery here recently, the food was excellent, with a good choice of vegetables, all piping hot, cooked to perfection, and reasonably priced. We will go back and would not hesitate in recommending to others. If you are not from the area, its worth going just for the views across Sandsend bay.

Staying in the Metropole Towers above the bar, so this is our nearest watering hole.

Can say it is a special place, brilliant music, brilliant outlook, brilliant relaxed atmosphere.

Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good bar on the West Cliff, we enjoyed it, no reservations!

Check out the toilets, few will beat them in Whitby, always a good sign.

Lovely friendly bar good selection of games for kids to play,we went in for a quick pint after the football at Whitby town which is just around the corner

Love this place. The landlords have really turned it around. There's a beautifully lit ballroom for watching all the brilliant entertainment or for using as a wedding venue or other parties. Not had a bad night there and the staff are all lovely. It's a place where you feel welcome as soon as you walk in.

Just been in with a couple of friends for a couple of pints, great set out great company. Few games of connect 4 and pool, and a quality set up ...... and i crnt wait till the summertime.

Fantastic night at the Peaky Blinders do last night. the band Kals Kats were amazing. well done.

Excellent time at the ladies night, had a great laugh with Ruby! Hope there will be another one �

Excellent attended Kals Kats Peaky Blinders event such a beautiful ball room and fabulous bar overlooking the sea with great views and the owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming going back in December ..

Called in during our holiday in Whitby and have to say would definitely recommend to everyone. We were made to feel so welcome especially the kids, the food was delicious especially the burgers and the staff were brilliant with 4 excitable children...thankyou so much for making our holiday in Whitby great x

All the times we have been here and staying just around the corner we have never used this place because it didn't look inviting.

This weekend we arrived and the last bit of the sun was out and we were going to walk in to town for a few beers.

We see the Met openered and a few tables outside and people in so we decided to see if they were hound friendly - they were and we were surprised how nice and clean it was inside.

A few drinks outside as the sun went down and the. We went inside for a few more - the landlord was very friendly and they welcomed us and our greyhound with no problem.

Definately going to go back and howl the new management have a success with it - one of the nicest spots to watch the sun go down over towards sansend
