What a difference a year makes! The shot on the left was taken today at the Cottages, the one on the right was taken on the 4th March last year. Such a difference - but shows #theoldstablesknitsley is beautiful no matter the weather ❤️😍

The Old Stables are very lucky to have two fantastic 'Doggy Directors' Lily and Muffin. Their job is to make sure that our furry guests have a great time while they stay!
That is why we have joined forces with a local company called Bob & Lush to supply all of our K9 guests with a lovely little welcome pack (complete with yummy treats and a few fantastic offers)
If you are booking to come and stay with us this year please let us know if you are bringing your dog as we now off...icially book them in (for a small charge of £10 per week) and make sure their Bob & Lush Welcome Pack is waiting for them!
(Thank you for Muffin and Lily for their fabulous modelling work!) Edit- £10 per week! Not per night 😅

Which season is your favourite? Here at The Old Stables, we LOVE the summer, but we must admit, we do love cosy cottage evenings in front of the fire.... The choice is yours....is it? 1. A beautiful hot summer - perfect for BBQ's, cold cider and garden games. 2. A stunning winter wonderland - perfect for cosy cottage nights, mulled wine and a pile of books to read.

Wonderful cottage in a lovely area with great views. Can't wait to return 5 star all the way.

User

We have just returned today from another wonderful visit to these fab cottages. Cannot fault them. We have now stayed in cottage 1 and 2 and cannot wait to return again. Wonderful welcome again. We have not found anything that is missing, they have everything anyone could possibly need, so beautifully decorated and immaculate. Thanks again to Lynn and Malcolm for a great weekend and a special thank you for my lovely Birthday treat as well as the great welcome pack for us and our 2 pooches. Hoping to return in the summer xx

User

One word ...........................awesome!

My wife, 5 year old daughter and I stayed here late October 2016-20/12/16 while our house was getting worked on. Lovely spacious cottages in a very quiet setting, close to beautiful Durham city, Beamish museum and not that far from haidriens wall and hexham. A perfect place to explore the North of England from.

User

Highly recommended. The cottages and surrounds are built to a high standard, which will surely pay dividends in satisfied customers and repeat bookings. We stayed in Stables 1 which was perfect for our needs, welcoming and warm. My wife is from Consett, so we are very familiar with the area, and being huge fans of the nearby Knitsley Farm Shop the location couldn't have been better. We had good weather as it happened, but I'd imagine even in winter the cottages would be sheltered from the wind, and quite cosy. We can't think of a better cottage that we've visited.

User

Fabulous accommodation very friendly owners. Would highly recommend The Old Stables

Absolutely stunning accommodation and setting. Slept like logs so peaceful and quiet. Lovely touches with hamper. Thank you we'll be back
