Went for a meal last night for my father in laws 65th birthday. Food was gorgeous. The portions were brilliant and good value for money. Especially as we got from the 2 for £14 special on meals. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Will certainly go back. Highly recommend x
Visited last night for an annual get together and I must say the food was absolutely beautiful with really good portion size! Top notch service and really welcoming atmosphere, would recommend it to anyone
Such a lovely traditional pub. Went for Sunday lunch and it was lovley. Portion was massive, proper gravy and proper mint sauce. I had my little boy and the guy who owns it (also head chef) Chris got one of the girls to help me out by carrying his plate and even putting the food on it for me. Deff will come back for more food and deff recommend it to others.
Just had Sunday lunch. Absolutely stuffed. It was delicious and the staff are some of the most helpful and friendly people I've met in the service industry. 5 stars for them too.
Had lunch here 2day with my hubby, i had steak n he had carbonara portions were huge great value for money n lovely friendly staff, ( we even got some free cake 2 bring home ) this was our 1st visit here n we will defo b returning again in the near future.
Food was great I had the fish and chips hubby had scampi and chips large portion of scampi. Chips lovely. As in other reviews bar staff were in very short supply. This was our first visit and we will return. Think it could do with a make over furniture mix match and old decor very bland.
Fantastic fresh food at excellent price. Be prepared to be stuffed. The best 3 course meal I've ever had. service was relaxed and friendly but very professional . Had a fantastic birthday. Great fun and relaxed environment. Nice outside area to sit too. Will be back.
Fab meal as always, very busy night but our meal was served within gud time. Waitresses were attentive. Gluten free options can be ordered with confidence which we need when eating out.
Called in advance as I eat Vegan food. Very friendly and helpful, they said to look at the menu and they would speak to the chef about ‘veganising’ one of the vegi options.
They made me a big veg and chickpea curry to have with rice and their yummy well cooked chips it was perfect. All the meat eaters enjoyed their steak too and the staff were excellent.
Best place around for food and service. Nothings a trouble for the staff and they are extremely helpful and polite. Food is presented professionally and never disappointed on taste would highly recommend
Amazing place, amazing food and huge portion sizes! We visit regularly and always receive great service and lovely meals.
Absolutely fantastic, carvery for under £8 all sorts of meats (asked for a bit of everything - greedy lol) food highest quality and my word so much on offer. Keep the good work up and be back ........... very very soon yum yum.
A huge thank you to Chris and all the team for making today possible. 3 course meal for 50 veterans and couldn't have gone better. Good man with a huge heart and fabulous staff. Thank you all x
Nice meal.waited a bit long for someone to take order, and meal took a while to come ,but I'll definitely go again
Went here with family for my 50th birthday 20th February. No specials and lots missing from the main menu. Worst of all NO cheesecake the main reason we chose here. Rather disappointed to be honest coz lots of other places we cud have chosen especially for such a special occasion
Ordered the chicken in leek & ham cream sauce. The chicken and the sauce were lovely, but spoilt due to the chicken being plonked ontop of a load of balsamic dressed salad with cucumber etc,not a good combination at all!the sauce was totally spoilt by the salad. Also I'd been told the chips were lovely from here, however today they were anaemic and bitty.I'd give it a go once more, may have been an off day,but not impressed I'm afraid.
Called last night we got rump steak tough was a under statement both left it we were not asked why so much steak was left we have both had bad stomachs since would not recommend arms were sticking to the table very disappointed thirty pounds wasted
Booked a table for 8 plus our baby girl for my dads birthday last night.
2 of the party of 8 being 5&6 year old children We arrived for 7pm sharp to avoid a late night That soon went out the window....
It took over a hour for our starters & the kids meals to arrive which at this time was 8.15ish our main courses didn’t arrive for yet a further hour which was around 9.-9.15ish to my delight my meal was incorrect, I ordered a chicken breast burger and I received a battered chicken burger which was returned and remade. The rest of my family finished there meal before received my replacement burger. I finished my burger and finally left the restraunt at 9.30-9.45ish over 21/2 hours since we arrived.
This was a huge disappointment and dampened my dads birthday not to mention the stress it caused trying to deal with the tired children.
PS we are still waiting for the kids deserts!!
Just ordered enchiladas if you want tinned tomato with veg then it's for you!! No Cajun spice as stated if that was a homemade sauce that chef wants sacking. Could not even eat the wrap as it was soaking wet. They are now serving frozen skin on fries. Wasted my money and evening but hey I won't be back... very disappointed
