Went to The Promenade 6_6_18 for family birthday meal, I HAVE to say we were not disappointed fabulous menu, enormous portions of Good,Food. Freshly cooked, very friendly staff.

One critism not of the promenade but the patrons who use it Golf Club or society.youse don't own the bar so stop blocking patrons walking through.

5 star rating we will return.

User

Well run dog friendly pub with delicious food. Really welcoming staff

User

The best place to be on a summers evening ❤️

T'was in yesterday (22/10/17), with my partner, for Sunday lunch. My partner opted for the (standard size) traditional Sunday dinner which she loved (any dinner that comes with a gravy boat gets my partners seal of approval). I, however, opted for the hot beef sandwich w/roast potatoes. I must say the sandwich was delicious (and, pleasantly, larger than I was expecting) & there were loads of roasties (as grandad pig says "you can never have too many potatoes") which were superb. The pub itself is always clean & the staff polite & helpful...

User

Polite staff very friendly, food was gorgeous service fantastic and would recommend it to friends,

Me and my partner called in here on the 10th of August. It was busy and we did have a bit of a wait for our meal but it was worth it. He enjoyed his cheese savoury sandwich and my burger was very tasty. As for the chips they were absolutely lush! Large portions and a selection of relishes too. We will definitely be back!

User

Lovely place, friendly efficient staff, fantastic food, huge portions. Had lunch here yesterday and returned for breakfast today with my wife and two cousins. The sharing platter breakfast is amazing served us 4 and we had to leave some. Best hangover cure ever. Keep up the great work guys and we'll see you soon!

User

It's a lovely cosy pub with friendly staff.

The food is absolutely gorgeous, the best pub food that you'll ever get. Portion sizes are huge and chips are amazing.

Had a game of Guess Who while waiting for it.

This is first on my list to eat at when I'm in Sunderland.

User

I had visited the pub before for a drink and was loving the snug so you could take your dog. Decided to visit with my daughter and dog was great well impressed with the food huge portions and very tasty. Will definitely be back 😁

User

Had lunch yesterday with hubby and our cousins. The food was AMAZING.Went back this morning after a night partying at the Roker.

What can I say. The shareing Breakfast Platter was so big that we didnt know whether to eat it or jump over it. Fed the 4 of us with food left over!!!! Will be back very soon.

User

Great place for a family meal, lovely food and very dog friendly.

User

Great fish and chips , friendly staff and dog friendly with dog biscuits on the side .

User

First time here and had bacon cheeseburger and chips which was absolutely amazing the staff were friendly and helpful I would definitely eat here again loved it

User

Been this afternoon, fab place, most dog friendly pub I've been to, dogs allowed in the snug area, blankets for seats supplied, dog menu too, our lad had sausages ! The human food is lovely, partner ordered Sunday dinner, which was lovely and plenty of it, homemade Yorkshire too. I asked if it was possible if they could do a prawn salad which wasn't on the menu, they were happy to oblige, again this was huge and served with gorgeous homemade chips too. All staff friendly and efficient. Full marks

User

Amazing food, fabulous service. Lovely place to be able to eat! Bonus of being able to take the dogs with us and they moved the doggy menu! Will definitely be coming back

User

Pop in every now and then with a mate who lives nearby. Good food, good staff and great ambience. Will be back...😊.

User

I love this place but £17.40 for 2 double Gordon’s & tonic was out of order! Nearly fell over! I’m at roker beach not centre of London silly prices will drive regulars away.

User

what a huge Disappointment went today Thursday 16th with 3 friends . i had a sandwich ok but the bread was't soft. a friend had the beef sandwich with chips and gravy and it was terrible the bread was hard the gravy was like glue . on request she asked for sweet potato fries instead of chips on asking the server why her bill was much higher than the menu stated she was charged a extra £3 pound for swapping from chips to sweet potato we could't believe what we were told disgusting . another friend had a jacket potato well must have been previously cooked and reheated it was brown and hard the salad that came with my sandwich and jacket had't even been washed black soil among . on complaining they did't even try and resolve the issue the presentation was Atrocious just scattered on the plate would not recommend the food service and the way the staff dealt with it .

User

Over 50 minutes wait for two breakfast rolls and a kids pasta. We were given our money back by way of an apology, needed to leave for the school run so our poor 1 year old didn’t get to eat her dinner, would have rather been told from the beginning that it would have been a ridiculous wait time and we could have ate elsewhere. Really disappointed as we’d heard good things about the food here but we won’t be giving it another try
