Photographer Mark Hunter presented Ferry Manager with his stunning photo art of Pride of the Tyne. The piece now hangs proudly on our office walls in South Shields.
A photo of Pride of the Tyne has been brilliantly transformed into a piece of art work. It has produced what appears as a stunning watercolour painting.
Thanks go to professional photographer Mark Hunter, of Gosforth, for this piece of work.

Ferry running to timetable today
we used the ferry service to cross during the Great North Run, I have to say it was very well organised and very quick to cross.
The price was very cheap, we'll worth it.
Yesterday I took the 7.20am ferry from north to south shields. The staff were very friendly and happy and obviously enjoyed their job. The ferry is a superb service and gives a very novel service which can be enjoyed by everyone. I love the fact bikes are welcome. It is lovely to be able to sit outside and enjoy the crossing. Many thanks for this excellent service
What is there to say? It gets you from one Shields to the other. Do you need to cross the River Tyne while still remaining dry and don't possess a boat of your own? Then this is the mode of transportation for you.
Well Done to the Ferry crew for a lovely little trip to see the Disney ship close up and then to wave it off at the Piers . Pirates and Disney music on board with the fare bring donated to Cash for Kids .Lovely xx
We went on the ferry yesterday. It didnāt sink. Hence the five stars.
Very Easy to use and understand the crossing times and prices, and excellent staff
Tried the fish and chip themed ferry trip on Sunday for the first time. Apart from there could have been more chips in the box I really enjoyed it, a really relaxing and pleasurable trip with a friendly atmosphere. Well done to all the staff and crew involved thanks for been so friendly. Would defiantly consider going on another one. Thanks so much for having me xx
This is a fantastic service and priced to be convenient and easy way of getting across the tyne as cyclists and pedestrians will be using the ferry again
thankyou
The ferry service is great, people take the service for granted but not many places have a ferry as part of a public transport system which is also cheap. My most remembered time on the ferry was quite a few years ago I got the last ferry from North Shields at around 11pm on a dark weekend night, which was the sprit of the Tyne and the captain played Rod Stewart - Sailing on way back to South Shields and everyone joined in signing down the river Tyne which I thought was fantastic!
Lovely day for our first sailing across to North Shields. We sailed on the Spirit of the Tyne but going to go on the Pride of the Tyne so we can stand up front sometime.
Clean, tidy, boat with lovely staff that does exactly what is says on the notice.
Quick, smooth & efficient. Loved it.
I highly recommend a 'Shields Ferry' river trip! The staff, friendly! The bar staff, great fun! The entertainment, superb! The food, beautiful! This is by far the best way to see the river Tyne. Well done to all of the staff onboard that make this such a fantastic service!!!!! Value for money without any shadow of doubt.
I canāt fault this service.
Great that you can use metro ticket and the little bus from north to metro station
Ferry and staff always friendly and helpfull, been using this ferry and service for years šš»But this is first time time the ticket seller was awful ,didnāt even lift his head up ,not a word spoken nothing !! Please !! Thank you !! Yes we always have the right change as we know sometimes people donāt ?? How rude !!!
Fantastic reliable service cuts travel time in half for Tynemouth. But didnt realise no bus service at Northsields end on a Sunday. Had to come back on metro wich took over 1 hour. Ferry is great for bike riders to ļæ½
Enjoyable experience couldnāt fault it
Can't praise the staff enough for the boat trip they put on last night for charity. They were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure it was a great night. Throughly enjoyed it :)
Booked on the Ferry for the Reptile encounter, my grandson had an absolutely amazing time, his first time on the Ferry and he loved every minute of it. We enjoyed the reptiles and got some great photos. Good value for money for a fab couple of hours out. Will definitely be booking a trip on the Ferry again
Always a nice experience on the ferry. Polite staff as you board and disembark.
Nice to know some people appreciate all your work by thanking the staff. As many people don't. Which is a shame cos you guys do a great job transporting the public all day long.
