Went in this afternoon for a pint to break up the day of bad weather. Ended up with a lovely meal and drinks. Staff are fantastic. Will 100% recommend to anyone and we will be back

Went 17th June for buskers bbq.....great atmosphere great service ....burgers were lush....we had a fab afternoon-evening....the gins were delish.....

We were greeted with a warm welcome, staff are friendly and attentive. Had the sharing platter lots of variety and a good sized portion, plenty for two. I would recommend the Ship.

Unreal night last night. Had my hen party in the restaurant and Catered for 20 and there was so much amazing food. Everyone commented on how gorgeous it was. Thanks so much to all the staff for looking after us. It’s not just a place to eat and have a few drinks it’s a great place to party and have a dance too! 5 star all the way ��

Three vegetarians went away full and very happy! Beautiful food, super staff and dog friendly! What more could you want. Looking forward to coming back.

Drinks and food were great as always but I would really like to mention tonight the patience and humility of one of the staff who was wearing a blue tshirt and he had his hair tied back. There was a young man with Down's syndrome upset who approached him and I watched as the staff member talked to him so respectfully and caringly and patiently! So positive and reassuring what a great member of staff should receive verbal praise, it's the little things that make the difference!

After happily winning a competition on Facebook for a cheaper meal for 4 - I can honestly say this was the nicest dinner I've experienced. We opted for the 3 course menu and I was not disappointed! The soup was delicious & well presented. The Sunday lunch had succulent roast potatoes & a range of meats to choose from. Let's not forgot the sticky toffee pudding which was phenomenal. Definitely dine here again and will recommend to everyone within the area!!! Waitress Sophie was friendly & helpful - credit to her team.

Absolutely amazing food, friendly, relaxed, atmosphere had a homely feel, decor just to my taste, lighting not too bright and not too dark and dingey.. somewhat just right , dog friendly in bar area. This is Exactly what you want for Sunday lunch. Can't recommend this place enough. Compliments to the chef also all 3 courses were perfect and very reasonably priced (£14.95 for 3 courses)

I’m not happy with one of your barmaids however, she stood slagging me off and pointing at me on numerous occasions while my family were stood at the bar (clearly she didn’t know they would come back and tell me) also in front of my face as I was leaving speaking to another member of staff pointing at me as I walked by. I just think it’s very disrespectful and unprofessional and someone with that attitude shouldn’t be dealing with customers face to face. Everything else was good apart from that barmaid x

Called yesterday for tea at around 4 was told the kitchen was closed untill 530 due to having a party to cater for!! Fair enough waited till 530 to order, too then be told food not been served untill 730!!

Was so annoyed as we waited around and we could of went else we’re if we had of been informed !

Normally the foods spot on.

Went for dinner last Sunday didn't think it was any good, food was luke warm, gravy was runny and the meat was papethin i used to go here evey Sunday without fail i wont going back.

One of the best beer gardens around. However, be prepared for surly staff and being told you cannot eat outside despite seeing 3 other parties eating outside. Two trips in a row we have been disappointed in the attitude of the staff and haven't felt very welcome. We had hoped the first time was a one off. If carrying hot plates outside is a health and safety risk, then I would question why it is ok to drink coffee outside. Very disappointed as I used to like this pub and the food very much. Will try other local pubs instead in future.

This is Exactly what you want for Sunday lunch. Can't recommend this place enough. Compliments to the chef also all 3 courses were perfect and very reasonably priced (£14.95 for 3 courses)

1st time at The Ship...certainly won't be the last...food was fantastic..service was great...ambiance of the place was very welcoming and the lass behind the bar was friendly even though she was rushed off her feet...what more could you want...excellent�

We had a lovely evening meal, food well presented, tasty and piping hot. Staff very friendly, would defo recommend!

Thanks for the room yesterday, the food was lovely all of my guests were impressed. I’m not happy with one of your barmaids however, she stood slagging me off and pointing at me on numerous occasions while my family were stood at the bar (clearly she didn’t know they would come back and tell me) also in front of my face as I was leaving speaking to another member of staff pointing at me as I walked by. I just think it’s very disrespectful and unprofessional and someone with that attitude shouldn’t be dealing with customers face to face. Everything else was good apart from that barmaid x

Called yesterday for tea at around 4 was told the kitchen was closed untill 530 due to having a party to cater for!! Fair enough waited till 530 to order, too then be told food not been served untill 730!!

Was so annoyed as we waited around and we could of went else we’re if we had of been informed !

Normally the foods spot on.

Went for dinner last Sunday didn't think it was any good, food was luke warm, gravy was runny and the meat was papethin i used to go here evey Sunday without fail i wont going back.

One of the best beer gardens around. However, be prepared for surly staff and being told you cannot eat outside despite seeing 3 other parties eating outside. Two trips in a row we have been disappointed in the attitude of the staff and haven't felt very welcome. We had hoped the first time was a one off. If carrying hot plates outside is a health and safety risk, then I would question why it is ok to drink coffee outside. Very disappointed as I used to like this pub and the food very much. Will try other local pubs instead in future.
