Went for lunch here today, a party of 9 for a family gathering, the place was extremely busy with what seemed to be very happy customers, we were seated and the menu was explained to us in detail, prices for one, two or three courses on the Sunday lunches and then there was an alternative menu, we had more than enough time to decide on what we all wanted before our order was taken by the assistant manager I'm not sure but I think Annette was her name? She was very cheery and clearly knew her job well, explained all food is cooked fresh to order so apologised if there was a lengthy wait, it was actually only 40 minutes from ordering, I had the cod and chips and it was amazing, we all had different from beef and pork lunches to lamb shanks and Parmos, every single one of us commented on the vast improvement since our last visit, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, I personally work in the industry and was shocked to see such a solid structure with the staff! Everyone seemed to know their station and stuck to it, Even the manager was clearing tables, polishing cutlery, helping in the kitchen as I could see her through the door, overall it was a great visit and me and my partner will most definitely be back, it's a lovely little pub, well done ’┐Į

We've lived all over the country, in some fabulous places, which have all been special, however this place is magical, brilliant sunshine or grey and miserable it's still a very special place in a wonderful part of the country wow

User

We travel from the south to see family this is the first place we come to when we arrive and the last place we go befor we leave, always have lovely dinners when we are up .

User

Visited today for lunch, I had chicken parmesan as did my partner, she got the smaller one. Food was lovely & portions were massive! Had to wait around 35 mins for food but that wasn't a problem as the meals made the wait worth it! Decent selection on the menu & kids menu is good too. Defo be calling again!

User

Visited on Saturday evening around 7.30 was really busy, the staff were on the ball and friendly. Got served at the bar quickly and waited around 20 mins for food to be served. I had the half parmo with chips (had been wanting a parmo all day) and was not disappointed. Thank you very much.

User

The Ship is my favourite place to go for a parmo and chips! Never had a bad meal there and it is always friendly and quick service.

User

Such a lovely place full of old charm.

Hubby not been to well. We needed sea air and good food.

We had cod and chips beautifullyŌĆŗ cooked nice presentation. Perfect for to tempt someone'sŌĆŗ appetite.

Staff always pleasant it's a pleasure to visit here.

Last minute decision to eat out tonight. We managed to get a table in the restaurant as walk ins luckily as it was busy. We shared a platter starter then my wife had home made corned beef pie and I had Cajun salmon. All the food was delicious, fresh and piping hot. Really big portions as well. Great value all round. Thank you Ship, see you again soon.

Called again yesterday on the spur of the moment. I chose liver and onions and the wife chose chicken burger and I was delighted to be informed the meals were on the two for ┬Ż14 deal, bargain. My liver was delicious as was the chicken burger however the burger was huge and my wife could only manage half the meal, maybe you could consider slightly smaller portions hahahaha. Great service, great value and great food once again, thank you.

User

Go regular to the ship have done for years , last nites meal I must say was probably the best we have had yet, very efficient and friendly staff .

User

First time we have been to The Ship. Good choice of food and drinks. It was quiet, mid afternoon, mid week, so food arrived in good time. Hot, cooked just right and with good service. Can't ask for more.

User

Came in yesterday with a friend we couldn't decide where to eat but so glad we chose The Ship, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was really good. Haven't been for years the place is just as I remember it, credit to the chef for the food though. All staff were friendly and helpful thanks for being great hosts

User

Visited here a couple of times as I've been passing through the beautiful beach town of Saltburn, and have always been made to feel extremely welcome. I've used the restaurant seating rather than the bar, and the atmosphere as you look out over the sea is just wonderful. A very rustic feel to the place makes you feel like you're stepping back in time.

The food is good value, particularly as the portion sizes are quite considerable, and the quality is of a good standard too. Having eaten the vegetarian curry, a korma, on a couple of occasions, the chef clearly has a knack for flavourings. The traditional seaside dish of scampi and chips is also a good choice, and there are certainly plenty of other options on the menu if you prefer a more home-cooked or pub style of food.

The service is speedy, even on busy days, and very friendly. They seem to cater very well to larger groups of people too, which is something that is hard to find in many places.

Parking can be a little tricky on busy days, but it's worth the walk from the main public car parks along the seafront.

If you're taking in the sights and smells of the seaside for a day out, I've an idea.....pop along to The Ship. You'll be warmly welcomed. :)

User

I had regular fish and chips and a side order of onion rings, which were particularly delicious. For dessert I had Cookie Dough with Vanilla Icecream and Caramel Sauce. DonŌĆÖt have this unless you like really sweet, guey desserts, which, fortunately, I do! However, I would have preferred ordinary cookie dough flavour rather than chocolate cookie dough. Nevertheless, IŌĆÖve had several meals at The Ship Inn and IŌĆÖve enjoyed every single one. In addition, the service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Was there yesterday for my fathers memorial, my father loved the ship inn, we come there every year in september and for his birthday and in january for his manorial, we also go a number of times in the year, a party of aprox 15 family members, but lastnight, our order was messed up, the waitress brought the wrong meals out to us, when we got our meals, some come in 2 parts, instead of been on one plate like other meals what was the same, i got mussels, before i got a bowl full, lastnight i only got 5, and they was over cooked, we complained, and we got a free round of drinks, i could understand if the pub was full, but it wasnt, the staf was very friendley, and help with everything we asked for, i just hope this is a blip, because we as a family love this pub, we will be coming again, ive given you a 3 star because of what ive put, but i know your alot better then that.

User

Very disappointed with it overall I had scampi and chips when I've had it previously it came with salad but this time non the presentation wasn't good at all .members of my family received there meal in two parts they made mistakes with my sons order there he had to wait longer while we all ate we were compensated with a free drink but overall very saddened as this was my father's favourite place to eat I'm sure if he's been there last night he would have changed his mind x

User

Ive put 3 star becouse after our meal it seamed like the staff were rushing us out to clean our table n me n our lass had to rush our drinks even tho we had the kids n were trying to keep them from playing up. But our meal was nice and the kids enjoyed their meal n they are so fussy so was a surprise they ate it lol.

User

I enjoyed my meal, however the parmo was small to say it was a half parmo was an understatement. If the parmo was a bit bigger then that would be great. I believe in value for money but it wasn't on the day. The staff were fine, great atmosphere.

User

Booked a table for 7 with 2 dogs staff didnŌĆÖt have a booking for us we ended up in the small bar left to our own devices not much service wonŌĆÖt be in a rush to return

I enjoyed my meal, however the parmo was small to say it was a half parmo was an understatement. If the parmo was a bit bigger then that would be great. I believe in value for money but it wasn't on the day. The staff were fine, great atmosphere.
