Following the success of our debut night of spoken word poetry and song we're back again with three of the region’s top spoken word poets, as well as musical entertainment!
Sky Hawkins
Poet and performer who has won numerous slams and headlined events across the North East for the last 12 years. Also known as The Word Bird, Sky has been delivering workshops with diverse groups since 2010, and won awards for her development work with disadvantaged and excluded young people. S...he believes there is a poet in us all just waiting to be released.
http://www.the-word-bird.com/
Aidan Clarke
The epitome of the successfully unsuccessful poet. Fresh from many years of One-Man No-Audience-Poetry performances, Shepherd-without-a-Flock-Stadium Tours and One Man-And-His-Complète-Absence-of-Dog TV series (released to Betamax video only) he arrives at The Town Mouse with a new set of poems which could be called The Mouse That Roared (but isn’t)
Ellen Moran
Fresh from the Born Lippy crew and ready for new ears. She's still a baby on the scene but growing every gig. Expect verses with flow and political narrative poetry as she soaks up styles and finds her voice.
Shrinking VIOLETS
An arresting vocal quartet providing an eclectic accappella mix of contemporary music and beautiful classics. Jitterbug to jazz, folk to funk!
Hosted by Richard Boggie
Tickets: £5
This event is ticket only. Tickets can be purchase by popping into the pub, or reserve your place on the guest list by emailing info@townmousealehouse.co.uk

just superb!

User

Very friendly and very dog friendly..huge selection of ales beers and ciders.. CAMRA pub of the year

User

Two friends and me were about escaping the noisy center of Newcastle Saturday night and we found this pub! It was perfect, exactly what we like, good beers, board games, good music in the background too, and around 10 people around us. The owners are really nice and friendly. During our weekend in Newcastle we went back on the Sunday as well to enjoy more board games haha. In the pub there are also few prints exhibited so you can discover artists like I discover Low Moon Over High Town. Thank you so much for welcoming us in your pub this weekend!

User

Top pub I'm up from chesterfield and wanted to call in to try there new I P A and got a free pretzel ,Top marks .will call again tomorrow for there first birthday

User

The best pub ever . So friendly great atmosphere. Great real ale . Go and you will see the lovely Izzy . A little gem of a pub

User

The Town Mouse has quickly become my favourite pub over the last couple of months. Jon and his staff are excellent. There is an ever changing range of beers and ciders to imbibe. Whether you like cask, keg. bottles or cans there is a wealth of choice. It's a wonderful place to unwind, chat and enjoy superb ale.

User

Really great place. A respite from the generic, noisy and faceless bars. We went on a Saturday night and found a welcoming, relaxed environment in an intimate setting. Beers were lovely, inexpensive and served in a caring manner. The 'play your own' record player is a nice touch. I'll be sure to bring my Rick Astley double album next time! friendly is an added bonus for our dog Bella who enjoyed her walk home through town afterwards. At least she can remember walking home because it's a bit patch for us.

User

Nice little place in toon frendly staff good beer

User

Lovely little place. Nice escape from the football fans. And a fit bar man. What more could u want

User

Love it, I go with my boyfriend every week and we love it there. Friendly atmosphere, great beer and ales for him and there’s always ‘my usual’, a lager/pilsner for me favourite place in town!

User

Like the location and the coziness of the bar. The boys enjoyed their beer and I hope the gin collection will grow, though the one I had was served well with quality tonic. Very pleasant bar staff and board games/records too.

User

I went in here by chance knowing nothing about ales but wanting to try, i felt totally clueless but Jon put me at ease and talked me through the different choices on offer. That was over a year ago and since then the Mouse is now my happy place! Great choice of drinks, the atmosphere is lovely and the staff are amazing. Always puts me in a better mood. Thank you :)

User

Having been a lager drinker all of my life it is only 2 months since I moved to the light side. Absolutely loving the different real ales out there and it's always handy when you have aficionados who are happy to recommend something you might like. Will definitely be back

User

Had just got off a bus from Alnwick, and in search of refreshment, before heading to the railway station, was making my way to Wetherspoons along the street. Instead I stumbled upon this place- truly a hidden gem. The anticipated bar crawl back to the station soon evaporated as I decided to work my way through several of the selection of excellent ales on offer, under the expert guidance of the friendly and informative staff. Became so distracted I only just made my train!☺

User

Free chocolate brownie birthday cake, went very well with the coffee ale. Thank you

User

Fantastic little pub. Was only popping in for one but stayed for a few more. Owner/barman was very very knowledgeable about beer and was very friendly. Most customers were friendly and chatty too. Loved the place and in the immortal words of Arnie "I'll be back"

User

Excellent choice of beer. Decor first class. Comfortable and relaxing. Staff very knowledgable on ales available. And friendly. Just a great place to be with friends and family

User

Excellent bar, probably the best of the speciality beer bars in town. Jon the owner's got great taste in beers and is good craic to boot!

User

Brilliant place, friendly and cosy with a great selection of ales - always something different, all the ales we've tried have been beautifully kept. Great little find, can't wait for our next visit .
