On Friday 17th May,as part of Whitby Fish & Ships festival, we will host Rosemary Redway one of the intrepid crew who sailed back from Newfoudland along local skipper Jack Lammiman. Rosemary will read from her memoir A Candle For the Atlantic, an account of that incredible voyage onboard The Helga Maria. An evening not to be missed for all the jolly sailors who enjoy a sea shanty and a drop of rum or two....all welcome Doors open at 6.30 for 7pm start.

Theresa Tomlinson will be signing copies of her classic story 'Little Stowaway' from 11.30 - 2.30 on Friday 19th of April. Based on a true story of the North East Coast it tells the tale of John Robert who follows his father to sea....

It's Record Shop Day, what better excuse to come and browse through our vinyls...
Come and join us for a excititng day of wordsmithing and poetry performances hosted by Harry Gallagher. The event will start at 2pm for those who wish to take part in our poetry workshop leading to a reading if desired. Alternatively you can join us later to hear poems by some of our favourite local writers or to take advantage of our open mic session.... This is a free event
