Join Michael Palin - former Monty Python stalwart and much-loved television globe-trotter - as he brings to life the world and voyages of HMS Erebus, here on our stage on Mon 24th September.
To research this story, Michael Palin travelled to various locations across the world - Tasmania, the Falklands, the Canadian Arctic - searching for local information, and experiencing at first hand the terrain and the conditions that would have confronted the Erebus and her crew. This will be such a fascinating evening!

I hope you will be able to make the rescheduled show to come and see me so I can tell you many new stories about my latest projects.”

We took our 7 year old son there last night to see The wizard of Oz as a birthday treat! All I can say is WOW!!! It was fantastic! From the staff who were there to take your tickets, bar staff and the people behind the whole production were amazing! The performance was one of a kind! Bobby Davro was HILARIOUS, Ashley & pudsey were BRILLIANT, Andrew Fleming was a great addition playing the tin man and the way him and Bobby Davros personalities bounced off each other was fantastic! The humour was hilarious i cried with laughter! I also loved how Lloyd Warbley made the lion so deep with character who was an absolute pleasure watching! Can I just say what a voice Gabrielle Green has! It was so enchanting! All of the performer were amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed everything about my time at the Tyne theatre and opera house! I will be booking again for the next pantomime very soon! Amazing just amazing! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This theatre is one location that will forever hold a place in my heart. There is nothing I have partook in or watched here that has not been the most wonderful experience!

User

Seen some brilliant shows here. Great venue

User

Nice theatre . The play we went to see was absolutely fantastic , I have not seen a bad play yet at this theatre . Staff are very helpful and the announcement are a good idea to let you know it's time to return to your seats .

User

Lovely theatre, staff were lovely (bar staff and front of house). My son (3) loved his first trip to the theatre for a child friendly show. We all had a lovely time. Prices weren't bad either, much cheaper than other places I've been to.

User

Just wanted to say a fantastic well done to all involved in Little Shop of Horrors, what a really great production. Each and every actor/actress/operator was outstanding, although the Dentist was a favourite! This was a much better production than we imagined especially for the cost, thought Audrey II was a hoot! Well done, I for one will be looking out for your future productions .. as for the theatre itself, it's stunning, couldn't fault anything, except the leg room, even for a shortie like me it was really uncomfortable but thats the way the theatre is designed so I can live with it ..

User

Just finished Little Shop of Horrors in this beautiful theatre. The entire Tyne Theatre staff are truly amazing and performing at this beautiful theatre was a privilege. Would highly recommend going to see anything at this beautiful theatre

User

I took my grandson 7 to see the wizard of oz last night and I have to say bobby Davro made the show for both of us. This is the second time I have seen it the last time being at Whitley bay. That one was funny but this one is hilarious. Loved it well done fantastic time x

User

I attended the Danny Baker show last night and when I booked the tickets I booked up stairs at the front as am just recovering from a knee OP thinking there would be enough space when the lady who was showing ppl to the seats saw me so came over and asked where I was sitting and told me I would struggle so moved me to a better seat and was really canny all night (short blonde bobbed hair) thank her for me as didn't see her when I left! Ps the show was great

User

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely theatre.

Show was amazing (Rob Beckett).

Hate it when acts get big enough for arenas. Theatres are much better, more comfortable, beautiful architecture, good sound quality and don't charge a fortune for a drink. This is a great little theatre.

User

An amazing evening with a superb show, the only disappointment was that it wasn't a full house! The big band were incredible and the RAT pack lives up to its reputation of a class ACT! OUR particular favourite was the unbelievable Dean Martin x

User

Went last night for the first time to see Danny Baker. Show was excellent. The venue was was very good with great period features. However two downsides were, the seats seem to have lost all their stuffing and were uncomfortable. The gents only have a couple of urinals/toilets, the queue at half time stretched from the toilets themselves up past the bar and practically out the bar doors.

User

The show was absolutely amazing and the children were brilliant. The only thing that totally surprised me was that there were no bag searches at all. In light of what had happened in Manchester, even before the London attacks this should be a priority rather than trying to just get people in to the theatre quickly, think everyone would rather this is done.

User

Just seen wizard of Oz easter play first time been to tyne theatre for yrs. Good show kids enjoyed Nice small place and pint decent price. Will be returning this year

User

I volunteered tonight on West Side Story. Great friendly staff. Watched lots of shows there. Nice venue. The only reason it's 4 stars not 5 is because like with most of these type of venues there's no summer school for adults.

User

Had a great time watching Annie the girl who played her had a great voice and the cast did a great job. View for my grandson was a bit blocked by man in front and I was surprised you don't have booster cushions available! It also got very hot as evening went on.

User

Went to see Annie yesterday the theatre quite old and musty but ok seats are very uncomfortable too😫😫😫show was great apart from Annie being blonde and straight hair 😥My granddaughter kept asking where is annie 😂😂😂😂😥

User

Watched the 'Just Dance' show on Saturday night. The Marian Lane school of dance production. Tremendous show. However a couple of issues affected the night. Firstly the heat upstairs in the grand circle was overpowering especially the first half ( not our first experience of this) and secondly the mic and audio system failed several times when the children were singing their solos. They handled it very well but it was such a shame. These children had practiced for this one night fot nearly a year.
