A late autumn gardening session, planting a variety of spring bulbs, bedding plants and these rather interesting ornamental cabbages, then cleaned up the garden and enjoyed seeing it bathed in the golden light we get at this time of year

Spider, Ant, Centipede, Earwig, Snail, Slug but most happy to see a Ladybird! Haven't seen a beautiful bright red ladybird in a long while...

I can't hold myself solely responsible for this but I am thrilled that after tending to it, this palm is about to flower for the first time in over 15 years!

Have been clearing this bed of brambles and weeds, enjoying the quiet I was accompanied by a robin and a blackbird, as I dug up the roots and turning over the soil up came the worms and so the birds had their feast! And as if that was all I was lucky enough to hear a cuckoo and have it call back to me once I had called it for the third time! (Love my job!)

Found a bird's nest in the corner of this garden in a bay tree I was pruning, intricately woven twigs and moss and so delicate, thankfully no bird's eggs

User

My guilty pleasure of enjoying Rhododendrons, such beautiful vibrant colours in the spring yet they are bad for the soil and other plants around them. Here they are today in their full glory at Morrab gardens, Penzance
