Watched Iron Maiden last night and they were fabulous! Arriving when I saw the queue I thought we'd never get in on time. But the staff were great, queue moved quickly and safely. The stewards were lovely engaging with my 5 and 11 year olds that came with us. The venue was excellent and I'd definitely come here again even though we had to travel from Lancashire it was worth it. Thanks for a great experience and keeping everyone safe.

User

The arena it's self is fab, dancing on ice was fab, the kids meal deal a fiver was reasonable hot dog, Capri sun ,brownie , kettle chips, however £3 yes £3 for a bottle of Diet Coke is diabolical. You can't get water anywhere for free did nt ask how much that was ( didn't want to pass out)just an idea for management and good customer service tip offer your customers a free bottle of water with each ticket cost would be minimal not everyone would take it up just saying

Having bought Morrissey tickets as soon as they came out, I couldn't have predicted I would have broken my foot and would be in hospital having surgery on the afternoon of the concert. Devastated and the thought of missing the concert and determined to get there I went straight from hospital to the arena to see the concert, in plaster, on crutches and still slightly drugged. My husband had rung before hand to ask if we could exchange our mosh pit tickets for seats, this was done with no issues at all and the person at the box office was very helpful. On arrival, we explained my circumstances to the car parking staff, who again were more than happy to help and advise. They sent us to the front of the arena where another parking attendant arranged for us to park as close as possible. I was then greeted by another event organiser and escorted me to the disabled entrance and helped me to be scanned and directed the quickest way to our seats.

The help we had getting into the concert was outstanding! Thanks.

Came here tonight with my 7 year old daughter to watch little mix. She's currently suffering a water infection, as we walked up the main stairs we turned left where there was a que she then started crying saying she needed the toilet so I approached a young woman (security) and asked where the nearest toilet was she then told me it was in the arena but seen my little girl was so upset about needing the toilet and rushed me to the front of the que. Thank you so much to that girl it made mine and my daughters night. If it wasn't for you it could of been a lot worse and we could of ended up back home! Well done metro radio arena security you's were all brilliant, pat on the back to you's all! Xx

User

After so many fiascos with entry to The Script gigs this tour we could not have asked for better organisation. People who have queued have been allowed to get the spot on the barrier they’ve earned. Fantastic staff all round and thank you x

User

Been to Little Mix today and wanted to say the security staff done an excellent job. It was my 6yr old’s first concert and once inside she got upset thinking there might be a bomb. I reassured her about the security process we had been through and pointed out all the friendly staff. This put her little mind at ease and she was able to enjoy the show. It was good to see the added security, which was very efficient.

User

Review not really of the place but the people. Im here now with my 8yr old daughter to watch the vamps, through the whole of the support acts she couldnt see because of people standing up. If people want to stand then why cant you buy standing tickets instead people pay a fortune to bring their kids and you cant see a thing ...cos of people forming a line in front of you...

User

I have been lucky enough to attend a few events at the Arena this year and while I understand that there has to be security checks you dont seem to be getting any quicker or any better at getting people in. There never seems to be enough staff scanning/searching people and the lines down the side of the building grow ever longer. Is it not a security issue having lines of people snaking around the building where someone could very easily join the line and do some harm if they so wished. I understand that these checks are a way of life these days but better organisation and a few more staff would help.

User

While I completely understand the need to have a security policy following the attacks in Manchester I was nevertheless pretty annoyed at being expected to dump my £75 Kanken backpack into a carrier bag and leave it at the bottom of the steps outside the arena!! I had opened it to be checked, it was barely full and it clearly had nothing untoward inside. There needs to be a bit of common sense and flexibility in this policy. My Nana's handbag was bigger than my backpack yet I wasn't allowed to take mine in. At a concert at the Leeds First Direct arena there is the option of a bag drop at a nearby shopping centre. Thankfully my Dad was able to swing back and pick it up. Like I said, completely understand the need for a security policy however you need to give us a better option than "leave your expensive bag in a carrier bag at the bottom of the steps!"

We took our 70 year old mother last night to see Queen for her birthday treat. She is not of good health and struggles with breathing and awaiting an operation later this month to have a pace maker fitted. Due to her ill health we naturally selected seats, not general standing, and we chose block 113 due its close proximity to the stage and her ability to see better. Sadly as soon as the show started people decided to stand which led to the people behind them not being able to see and so on and so on... My mother was not able to stand for the whole duration of the show and at 5ft 2" even standing wasnt her option. The video showing the band on stage was obstructed by the speakers so there was a definite distortion of what could be seen. The standing situation became out of hand as people behind were shouting sit down and becoming abusive to anyone standing but everyone was in the same boat. Yes we were at a pop concert/rock concert but this block was the only block of seats that had people standing and spoiling the enjoyment of those that were unable to stand. When the stewards were approached regarding the problem people were met with shrugs and "it's a rock concert" patronising answer. Nobody thought or cared about the elderly and disabled and those unable to stand for 2 hours. Had people intentions of standing, waving drunken arms about and obstructing views why did they not buy a ticket for general standing? Genuine reasons are behind buying seats for a rock concert as people do want to sit and enjoy the show from their seats!! Abuse and pushing and intimidation off other concert goers was not what we wanted to witness and as I earlier mentioned my 70 year 5ft 2" mother was terrified to enjoy herself. Something should be done generally to ensure everyone who bought a ticket gets to enjoy the event equally.

After my husband went to see kasabian last night, while standing half way through the concert had his mobile phone stolen, along with many others around him, went to security to be informed to join the queue where this queue had a lot of people in it who had also had the mobile stolen, the security couldn't even write everyone name and details down so handed them a slip to contact arena the next day. Obv an organised attack for so many to be stolen in one go. Rang arena today to be told not their problem. Not really a great response went from an amazing night to then missing half of kasabian due to queueing to alert security. Total joke.

Went to see James Arthur in November , an extremely drunk woman was allowed in even though she could barely even stand threw up all over me, my coat and down the back of the people in front of us , also kept swinging around and banging into me . Got in touch to complain after as she should not off been allowed in in the state she was in . Phoned 3 times couldn't get in touch with any manager and emailed twice still haven't heard a thing back ! Poor customer service !!

User

This isn’t a review of the show or the staff at the arena. When tickets for Joesph went on sale, I bought 6 straight away and got front row. Sounds ideal doesn’t it? Wrong. The seats were front row, but the stage wasn’t on front of us. As the show is a theatre style production, the stage isn’t the width of the arena. Directly in front of us we had a view of a curtain and a bin!

To see the stage we had to turn our heads 90 degrees. These were the most expensive tickets available and front row. They weren’t advertised as restricted view.

We did move to the back of the arena for the second half, but we were right at the back.

I enjoyed the show and the staff were helpful, but I can’t help feeling cheated out of the money I paid.

The arena is in need of refurbishment. The standards of the bathroom is terrible and more like a public toilet and not a world class music venue! The smell was rank!

User

The event itself was amazing, no complaints there. My issue is with the staff on the doors. Read and received multiple emails stating no big back packs, fine obviously a security risk, etc. My Grandma took my 2 year old with his reigns on - complete with a tiny back pack, not even big enough to hold a nappy, and was asked to remove them. They called ahead to ask if she could fold them up and put it in her bag. She wasnt refused entry nor was she given a reason as to why it made any difference if they were in her bag or on his back. Surely making sure my toddler is secure is important? Instead they waited almost an hour (as requested on the tickets) for the doors to be opened, with a 2 year old running riot, as they do. Honestly it made no sense at all, you put these shows on for kids!

Phoned a couple of days ago to find info on Arctic Monkeys gig(s) was advised to "phone up at 9am on Friday 13April. Phoned the 7p a minute number at 8.59 and finally got to speak to someone at 9.35 who said "They're snapping them up online luv"

Went straight online and there was only SINGLE tickets on offer (needed 3 for daughter and two classmates)

Drove to the Arena box office only to be met with a poster saying "phone this number ( yup, same number) or go online...you couldn't make it up! Croc o' shite customer service!

My sister and I went to see steps 20/11/17, we headed straight there after she finished work at 6pm, we got to the arena at about 6:50pm to be greeted just under the bridge by a huge crowd of extremely slow moving people trying to get up to the arena. There was about 3 people checking tickets at the bottom of the stairs which was causing the crowd. We spent 20 minutes in said crowd before we even got to the stairs to climb up to the arena to be then greeted with an enormous queue that spanned the entire length of the area a and then looped back up for our bags searched. We spent a further 45-50 minutes in this queue and when we finally got in the vengaboys were singing their last song. Furious and devastated. I understand the need to have the security after the trashiest at Manchester but seriously 2 people searching bags in a 95% women crowd, is an absolute joke. The staff were rude and joking that they were getting £10 an hour for being a roundabout (for us to be herded around in the loop back). I have put a complaints form in and I honestly don’t think I’d attend another gig there until the manage the situation better it was a disgrace.

User

It is very difficult to attend the arena with young children as you cannot take backpacks or food into the venue. I'm not really sure how they expect you to carry everything you need for young children and the food available in the venue is not particularly suitable for young children and adds further expense to the day. I attended the same show last year and did not have these issues. I understand there are security reasons but all bags can be searched regardless of the size and not taking food in is simply a money making scheme. it seems that very little consideration has been given to families.

User

I was at the dancing on Ice show today and the seating was disgusting I was sat in block 8 row a seat 4 and the people next to me wouldn't move and had to get help to move the seats so I could seat down and I paid £70.00 for what I may not go back there again sort out the seating..not happy at all.

User

How can anyone give a great rating when you charge an extra 25% on top of ticket prices for each of your shows which equates to thousands and thousands of pounds every night. Come on, stop being greedy, think about the fans.
