Ian and Lucia from Scotland started their fertility quest back in 2009. Ian's vasectomy had been done in in 1991. They were advised to have IVF (!) and one cycle of this in 2009 sadly ended in miscarriage. Unfortunately, Ian was involved in a serious RTA which delayed further attempts at having family until 2012. Some years and many operations later, this determined couple were ready to try and start their new family again. Ian did his research and opted not for further IVF but chose the natural route, day surgery reversal here at Dawson Microsurgery. We successfully performed his reversal in 2012. Attempts to conceive were delayed again due to more medical issues but finally and happily, Lucia became pregnant in 2015 and Jayden arrived in late the following year.

Hello Andrew (and Barbara). It’s been a while! Hope this finds you well and that you’ve both enjoyed good Christmases.
I’m not sure if you’ll remember us or not, but you’ve already helped us in providing us with our gorgeous (now 4 year old daughter) Heidi.
Last year we came back to see you (with Heidi in tow) to discuss Richard having another reversal after scar tissue seemed to have built up following the last op he had. We were keen to try for another baby but had not had ...any success following Heidi’s birth. We were both a little sceptical about whether it would work (especially with me now being 40) and to be fair it has taken quite a while for us to catch on but I am delighted to now be able to share with you both that we are now expecting our second child due in mid-May next year. It’s been a bit fraught with complications early on in the pregnancy but things appear to have settled and I am now almost 21 weeks and hopeful the remainder of this pregnancy will go smoothly.
We both wanted to share our news with you, specifically because it is your handiwork and attention to detail that has allowed us to realise our dreams. This will be it now, no more children, but I can’t tell you how happy and contented we both feel at having been given this miracle opportunity not just once, but twice!

And this was quick too! Dean and Jenny (age 33) from Bristol. Dean was 13 years out from his vasectomy. Their operation was in July 2015 and Benjamin was born in July 2016 with an early miscarriage beforehand..

That was quick! The Vasectomy was 20 years ago, reversal 12 months ago, Liisa born July this year.
It can take some months to regain full fertility when the reversal has been over 10 years previously, OR it can be very quick!

The video below is the picture we saw today when we sampled the fluid in the vas of a 'lad' whose vasectomy had been performed 25 years ago! Live sperms and plenty of them. Proof positive that with our super microsurgery Mike will return to fertility. If you listen carefully to the sound track you can hear him gently snoring his way through the procedure..

Another very successful re-do reversal 8 years after the vasectomy. This time the initial reversal was performed by their local urologist in Stafford.

Following my husband Gary P's re-do reversal on 16th December 2014, I am happy to announce that it was a success and we had a little girl - Annie L***, on 26th April 2016 weighing 9lbs 3oz. We can't thank you enough for our little miracle. Dr Dawson is quite simply a genius and I hope he knows how much he change...s people's lives and how eternally grateful we are.
I actually fell pregnant just weeks after the operation in January 2015, but sadly miscarried at 9 weeks. Despite the upset, it was good to know that the operation had worked and gave us the hope to keep trying. We got married in June 2015 and I fell pregnant again shortly after in July. This time, I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy and now we have a gorgeous baby daughter.
Not only is Dr Dawson a miracle worker, but we found the whole process very professional while at the same time being personal. We were undecided at the time whether or not to have the re-do reversal given the failure of the original reversal that we had done locally, but from the very first phone call we were impressed and to have Dr Dawson call us himself was so personal and made our decision to go ahead very easy. On the day of the operation, Dr Dawson greeted us himself and explained everything thoroughly and I was kept up to date on my husband's progress every step of the way. I was so impressed that I was allowed into the operating room to see what was going on and to see the sperm being assessed. Not only was it interesting, but made me feel a part of it. I honestly can't praise you enough. The entire process was brilliant and the fact that we now have a daughter shows how incredible your work is.

Another quote from a urologist in Nottingham'
'I don't quote pregnancy rates because I am not a fertility doctor'. !!
So reversal is not a fertility treatment??!! All you have to do is read the literature to see that all the published research papers quote pregnancy rates, as we do.

'This isn't a small or cheap operation and, whilst I don't want to be miserable, to my way of thinking the chances of success are really really small - much less than you quote but, then again, vasectomy reversal is not my area of expertise. I know that our urologists don't, as a rule, do reversals where the vasectomy is of more than 10 years standing'.
FACT - in our series of 64 consecutive reversals on lads who have had the vasectomy from 20-25 years post vasectomy and whose wives were under 40 yeast of age, 61.6% regain fertility, 25% were pregnant.
