Westway vet Mandy Ball had a slippery case to handle today - a baby corn snake found in Newcastle. The snake was discovered by a Fenham resident, digging in his front garden, just a stone's throw from our main hospital on West Road. At first he thought it was a worm, but on closer inspection realised it was a snake. Mandy went round and quickly identified it as a baby corn snake - and it is now being looked after at the practice. The eight-inch snake is being warmed up under heat lamps. I can not recommend Jason and his team enough - not only does Jason offer an at-home service for Charlie my Bulldog, he also provides support and guidance for the breed to ensure I am caring for Charlie to the highest standards. Being slightly nervous Charlie doesn't like going to the veterinary practice, with Jason able to visit to her home she is completely at eas...e, and it also means Charlie has Jason's complete attention for as long as required. Jason only recommends tests / treatment when absolutely necessary, and the cost for home visits is very affordable. Jason also visits when boosters, worming & lung worm treatments are required to make sure Charlie is in the best condition possible. Trust me - the vet coming to your house is the best for your pet! Charlie loves Jason!

Cone of shame ! Few people have been asking for update on Riley my rescue. He is doing brill post cataract surgery far from out of woods 6 weeks recovery minimum. Two different drops in 5 time a day. He seems happy .

Westway vet Janey Lowes will swap Newcastle for Sri Lanka to set up a charity to help stray dogs. Janey will take a year's sabbatical from our branch in Wideopen, Newcastle, to work with Embark @EmbarkLK , a charity that helps Sri Lanka's street dog population of more than one-million.
