Had a great night food was top notch service was amazing would go again in a heat beat

Great pub and service. Staff very well mannered and kind and knows what their job is all about, great team and thanks for supporting live music and allowing me to play.

Excellent Food and Service, Really enjoyed that 48oz Pizza Steak, shame I couldn't finish it. But thanks for wrapping it up so I could take it home for the dog.

Called in this afternoon for a quick bite to eat . Didn't expect to much but what a nice experience .

Firstly credit where it is due ..... was served by a very helpful member of staff . Kimberly I think her name was , I asked about food ingredients as I am under a strict diet and she fave me an food allergy book to have a look through . She was also very helpful with offering advice regarding meal side order options . Canny friendly character she was .....well done .



Secondly , I ordered the Plain 8oz Rump steak with chips etc for only £7.79

The taste and the way my steak was cooked was really nice . I've had alot worse steaks for nearly treble the price in the past .



Overall experience was great , i felt some recognition was deserved hence why I am writing this now .

Only giving a 4 as I only tried the topped fries. Could of been more topping but the price is reasonable. My little girl loves be dinner and it was lovely and quiet. Will definitely be returning to try a proper meal next time

My friend and I have been coming here for a Christmas meal in the lead up to Christmas for the past eight years.



This year, it was truly terrible. The seating of the booth was moving and falling off. The table wasn't decorated like previous years. We both ordered the steak Christmas dinner as per previous years. When it arrived, it wasn't as before. Both were served on a plate whereas it's usually served on a hot skillet, ironically a couple on the booth behind us had their steak served on a hot skillet. Why not us? The peas and mushrooms were cold. The pigs in blankets were missing.



I had my 17 month old niece with me who is allergic to dairy. I was given an allergy book to check the items which was great. Her kids meal portion was the same size as our adults size Christmas dinner. For my nieces meal, the peas were cold and the plain chicken fillet was lukewarm. How? It was obvious it had been reheated but not enough.



We had ordered lattes to drink. The coffee was missing.



The puddings were the only great part of the meal for myself and my friend.



We spoke to staff about the coffee. This was fixed. We mentioned the missing food and this was fixed. We brought up how the Christmas dinner wasn't as previous years and the staff said it's always been this way. I beg to differ.



We've made the decision to not return here for our yearly tradition and to find somewhere else.

Just got my meal after waiting over hour order at 18.28 got meal at 19.40 went my girlfriend order was told 30 minutes to 45 went meal came was not ask if i want any sources had to ask and no apologies for the length of time for wait for meal all i can say is i going to gold medal next time

Tables were filthy food was awful nuked frozen chicken and a bad smelling salad, coke was nice though

used this place a lot over the last 5 year has always been reasonable but not this time, food was cold the chips may aswell been charcoal. My wifes rump steak was supposed to be 5oz it was made up 3oz of fat and 2oz of steak. also noticed there was no sizzling hot plates. do not recommend this place no more. the kids menu is very poor now as the don't do kids mix grill any more. there was also items missing off my dish and I also heard some one else complaining about items missing.

Wish I’d read these reviews before we went waited 45 mins for a plate of cold food got the mixed grill every thing apart from the frozen greesy chips was cold the steak was burn to charcoal the chicken was prosessed even the peas were freezing and the only time the staff spoke or smiled is when they were apologising for the food

Went in with my partner and we had to wait 55 mins for our food and when it come the meat was tough and watery like it was frozen food

Me and my boyfriend went for tea here tonight, it started off good, girl who took our order was very professional and polite. THEN our food arrived, my boyfriends XL meal was smaller than my regular meal and my burger was charred. Not even half way through our meal there was a power cut, I know these things can happen but at not one point did a member of staff come upto us and explain the situation which left us to 'eat' our food in darkness which is a huge health and safety breach, we should of been evacuated! In the silence we heard squeaking like an infestation in the wall next to us, we made them aware because this could of been the cause like vermin chewing through wires but they decided to take the approach of totally defending and denying the fact that this could be the case. Safe to say we will not be visiting this place again in a hurry!

Just walked in and it smelt of sewage not a thing you want to be smelling when eating your dinner so turned around and walked out such a shame used to love the place

Just been tonight was rotten got the pizza steak and ended up just taking the steak home for the dogs never in my life have I been served such a piece of shit. never again will I ever visit, stinking place who would put cheese slices on top of a steak and try pass it off as a meal yous didn't even try melting them down. Fucking disgrace...

I cannot explain how disappointed we were with not only the food but the service and also the after care. We visited the restaurant after finding out the sex of my daughters baby, we decided to celebrate the day by having a meal....where do I start, 2 of the toilets were blocked and the only one which wasn't blocked did not have any toilet paper in them, there were 2 dogs running around off leads, we should have left then as this was a sign of things to come. We ordered our starter and we were informed there was 30 minute delay, we said this was ok, after 40 minutes our starter was delivered, the waitress came over to us when we had finished and asked if we were ready for our main course, we said we were ready, 10 minutes later they brought food to our table which wasn't ours, after a further 20 minutes our food was delivered, I had ordered steak medium to rare and it came out well done, I sent my food back and waited a further 15 minutes for my meal, at this point my daughter and her husband had finished their meals and I sat eating alone, after speaking with the general manager and receiving an e-mail of apology, I am not content with this and will be contacting the head office for a full refund. The flaming grill on the way to Consett and the one in Stanley are superb cleanliness, food and service quality and would highly recommend you visiting one of these and give team valley a wide berth.

After sitting and ordering our food we expected a 10-15 minute wait as it was very quiet...im diabetic so I took my insulin in prep for my meal arriving and was starting to become anxious at the 40 minute stage... finally the good arrived and it was wrong so had to be sent back... the food wasn't even hot and had been under a lamp as was dry and hard

Safe to say I won't be returning

Absolutely disgusting. Went yesterday the veg was raw the mashed potatoes was frozen. The toilet seats were rotten. The staff didn't care. There was only 10 customers in no mad rush here I wounder why? Needs closing down.
