I was at an Early Years Wellbeing Conference today sharing the CLANGERS. Another speaker reminded us that kids should only have 25g of added sugar per day and that's easy to overdo. Help your kids develop healthy habits and cut back on sugar

Snow is great for a workout! Shovelling snow, walking up hills to then sledge down, rolling an ever-increasing ball of snow to make a snowman. Have fun!

I'm taking part in RED January (run every day) to raise awareness for mental health. My own mental health has been loads better this January from running every day, even though most of that running has been in the dark! What are you doing to support your mental health this January?

Day 4 of CLANGERS. N is for Notice. We often hurry through our lives rushing to the next thing we have to do and not paying any attention to the here and now. Let's change that today and start noticing the little things - the sound of the wind, the vapour trails in the sky, the sunlight on the trees, the Christmas lights, the compliments we are given, the kindness of others, the warmth of gloves. Day 3 of CLANGERS (Connect and learn were first 2). A is for be Active. Being active and exercising are SO important for keeping your body and mind fit and well. Exercising helps maintain healthier weight and reduces risk of heart disease and diabetes. Exercise also helps reduce the stress hormone cortisol. It fend off anxiety and helps mild depression. It connects us with others and improves our self esteem. It slso helps us sleep better. Being active means sitting less and moving more in your daily life. So stand up more, walk more, dance more, find a form of exercise you love and reap the benefits. Enjoy!

Day 2 of CLANGERS. L is for Learn. Challenging your brain is good for your health and wellbeing. It could be learning to play the piano or how to speak Italian or a new board or card game. Keep reading new books too. Watch TED talks. And find someone to talk to about what you've learned. Enjoy!
