Upper Key Stage Headteacher Award winners for this week! Well done!

Welcome Back! It is brilliant to see so many smiling faces back in school over the last two weeks after a well deserved summer break. The children have also really enjoyed exploring the Victoria building after the extensive building work this summer. With thanks to the Laidlaw Schools Trust, we now have yet more dedicated classrooms as the previous open-plan layouts in the academy continue to be revised. The children also look incredibly smart in their wonderful royal blue un...iforms. Last year, only 86% of our children were in school on the first day of term. We are pleased to say there has been an improvement (90% were in school on September 4th) however we need to improve this performance. Parents must please ensure all children are back on time after the school holidays. We are determined to beat last year’s attendance record of 95% and we must target the national average for schools of 96% this year. Wildlife Warriors! Year 3 kicked off their topic with a trip to The Rising Sun country park where we searched for animal tracks, made mini beast hotels and built dens. We loved getting down with nature!
