Lovely pub , almost traditional, not to be missed, slightly off the route of a Durham pub crawl, but nicer for that.

It's Excellent. Bloody excellent I tell ye. I can't imagine how someone could thoroughly sum up the sheer excellence of Ye Old Elm Tree in just forty words, I'm really struggling to convey just how excellent the place is, let's just say, it's excellent.

tonight was folk night, excellent musicians and I quaffed 3 pints of real ale..excellent..on Sunday I had the carvery..again...very good...nice hot veg and meat tip top. one of the best trad. pubs in the city.

Had a great mothers day carvery in the elm tree with my wife mother and daughter and a couple of pints of real ale for me. Lovely home cooked meal lovely staff who were very helpful. Will definitely be going back. Thank you
