Tucked away in an old smuggler’s cove, our lovely Old Mill will delight and inspire you. YHA Boggle Hole is perfect for family breaks. Children will love our treasure trails, dressing up clothes and toys as well as making new friends. Grown-ups will love the relaxed atmosphere and have peace of mind knowing that the children are safe and happy. You will find time to read that much-anticipated book. You will spend some great quality time together. You will smile more and you will play more. Pirates, spooky trails, hobby horses, we’re not going to tell you everything; you will have to come and explore for yourself!
This iconic Youth Hostel will provide a traditional UK coastal holiday beside the seaside, so building sandcastles, fossil-hunting and paddling are in, while mobile phones and Playstations are out. You’ll also have the chance to explore the Yorkshire Heritage Coast and delightful villages along the way.

Wonderful, just an absolutely special place, terrific cake and coffee, and our little dog Eddie would come to live here, thank you for being so quaint
What an amazing time we had at Boggle Hole (Again) The staff were friendly and helpful and the children's treasure trail leaflet is great fun for the young (and not so young) uns! The rooms are clean, breakfast is well worth the money and the bar area is a lovely welcoming place to gather with the amazing wood burner cranking out some much needed heat after a brisk afternoon finding fossils on the beach.
We stopped for a tea break on our walk from Ravenscar, I had tea and a bacon butty which was great and good value. My husband had tea and toasted teacake, the teacake was fine but his tea was too weak but he didn’t take it back so it can’t have been that bad. Service was good, we sat outside in the sun, a pleasant experience 😁
We popped in today with our kids on what was a cold and windy day. Despite the tide not being out the kids managed a splash about before going inside. The cafe was lovely, with a lovely fire going, great coffee and a coffee and walnut cake that was amazing (and I've had a few!) We'll be back in the summer and hopefully for a stay!
We love this place, it is very special and have visited many many times. The attention to detail is spectacular, with lots of interest around pirates and smugglers, and even a dressing up chest and secret spy hole, for the children! The facilities and location are just perfect for a refreshing few days away by the coast with lots of walks close by.
Their are usually alot of children staying, and accept they are excited and noisy. However this visit the children were all running around in the dining room, and also running and shouting by the cabins until quite late at night. A shame the parents were not my considerate to other guests!
Very dedicated staff that attended to the needs of every child we had, all 50 of them! Highly recommend.
Totally unique and magical. Staff are amazing, rooms clean and tidy, surroundings amazing. Yes it is a steep walk but it is worth it!
Stopped off for lunch and we can definitely recommend this place,food was really good it was tasty and more than basic....we shared the “3 dishes for £11”deal and we really enjoyed it! service was good too ��
Myself and my two kids stayed for the night and the staff were great .no dramas ,friendly and got what you paid for . Amazing scenery and we will be returning !
My wife and I stayed here for 1 night last week and it was excellent. We stayed in a private room in the Crow's Nest which was an absolute bargain. The location of the hostel is great although be prepared for a walk from the car park. Highly recommended, will definitely stay here again.

Just got back from a 3 day stay with my class, we loved it! Our activity leader, Zoe, was incredibly fun, friendly and knowledgeable and the children loved her. All staff throughout our stay were polite, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The children were fully engaged in all activities, food was great and accommodation fantastic. Thank you Zoe and YHA Boggle Hole for a brilliant end to our year!
Having read a great review two years ago, I have been meaning to book a stay here. We finally made our visit this week and it did not disappoint! It is a trek from the car, but given the amazing location, it is well worth it! Being right on the beach is just amazing!
Going to try and book again before the end of the summer as it was so good.
All the staff we came across were really helpful and friendly, giving us advice about walks and everything we needed.
Definitely going to come back!

Brilliant place, even with bad weather there is plenty to do. Great bar and restaurant and very good amenities for self catering. Stayed in Crow's Nest which has lovely rooms that are excellent value for money.
Boggle Hole is a wonderful place to visit, have something to eat and walk back to RHB either on the cliff tops or the beach.
Absoloutly love this place! Me and my husband got our vows done on These grounds and I fall in love with place. Recommend this place to all
