400 Birkenhead Squadron - Royal Air Force Air Cadets

On Tuesday evening Flt Lt Browne (Officer Commanding 400 Sqn) presented Sgt Burton (L) with his first place medal following his success in the Regional First Aid competition over the past weekend, where he competed as part of the Merseyside Wing team. Sgt Bridger (R) also received his Silver Duke of Edinburgh badge following completion of his award. Well done both!

Congratulations to Sgt Burton in taking part in the Regional First Aid Competition. 1st place in the Cadet Juniors Teams and Best overall score in the competition. Merseyside Wing will now be going to the National Competition later in the year. Also this weekend the squadron was supporting Sainsbury's Comic Relief Campaign through a bag pack. Well done to all the cadets that attended

Great News!
We are open over the half term break.

Last night was our Green Flights passing out parade. Over the past few months this intake have done some amazing things. They have completed there basic training to earn them their first class badge, Heart start training giving them some vital first aid knowledge, air rifle training and shooting, volunteering work with the poppy appeal and bag packing to raise money for the squadron, as well as much much more! We are all very proud of this intake and hope that the amazing work they have done continues for as long as they are with us.

Happy Birthday to us! Still going strong after 78 years! Here's to the next 78 years, and to more incredible experiences for our cadets and staff alike!

Last night, 29 cadets visited The Hive, Wirral Youth Zone. Here they utilised their amazing resources to do some sports activities. Cadets had a great time being coached by an Everton badminton coach, Steve. He taught the cadets proper techniques as well as a few games! We then did a few games of Basketball to bring the night to a close.

We've had a busy weekend with Sgt Bridger Cdt Kearns and Cdt Owen attending the Wing Senior Football Trials. We've also had Sgt Burton attending the Wing first aid selection weekend and has been chosen team leader into the next round of the competition.

Tonight at 400 sqn, we made a brand new media team. They will keep you posted and informed on the many different activities that we do. This will be across all social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

First weekend back, and we have been doing some first aid! Over the past 2 days cadets and staff have taken part in the wing run activity and youth first aid courses. We had 2 staff and one cadet complete the activity first aid, soon allowing them to teach and assess first aid. We also had 4 cadets complete the youth first aid, building on top of there knowledge. Well done to all who atteneded and a big Thank you for the wing staff who ran the course.

Yesterday was another fantastic day of bag packing! Lots of funds raised for the squadron and fun packing the bags. Thank You to everyone who has supported the squadron over the past 2 days. We hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and New year! Looking foward to what 2019 has to offer 400!

Excellent day bag packing today in Sainsburys! Lots of happy faces collecting money for the squadron in the lead up to Christmas! We will be there tomorrow as well raising funds and helping the local community.

Last night was the last parade night of the year. The whole squadron was treated to a free bowling and laser quest session down at new brighton. This was a great reward for all the hard work the cadets have put in over 2018. The cadets enjoyed a great night playing games eating food and drinks! (Not to mention presents from the committee, who also paid for the nights activities and free chips!) Brilliant end to a very successful year at 400! Bring on 2019!
