It’s Christmas at RHQ (ho ho ho). Time to say thank you to all those staff whose hard work keeps us afloat, both military and civilian. Special congratulations are due to Mrs Embra for her exemplary 40 years with the Civil Service. Even the RHQ elf is having a good day after several weeks of fighting with the QM.
Happy holidays folks- carol concerts at Beaumont Primary, paint ball, Christmas dinners, and some terrible fancy dress outfits (106) mark the start of Christmas!! It’s been a hectic year and we couldn’t have achieved all that we have without your hard work and effort. Enjoy your time off!
Not that we are encouraging anyone, male or female, to transfer, but what a fantastic step forward!
The FOE for 2018/19 is nearly complete and will be released very shortly so you can plan ahead. The aim has been to achieve a balance of core infantry and engineer skills, while still providing opportunity for sport, AT and more advanced combat engineering such as dems.
After a long year of amphibious engineering (kudos), last week 23 and 412 Amph made it down to Eberbach for some good old fashioned construction. Well done all for some excellent work!!

As we are not close combat this will not apply but interesting to see the direction taken by the Army. Wait out for guidance on future fitness standards for the Corps and the Army Reserve
Members of the Regiment will parade from the Town Hall, around town, finishing by the Town Hall to receive presentations from the Mayor.

It’s that time again...our Regt’l gin is ready for re-ordering in time for Christmas. Made by Hunters of Cheshire and uniquely labelled just for us!! At £25 a bottle it’s a steal, and rather delicious. All orders must be in by 1 Sep 18 and payment will be taken up front.

PTSD and stress related mental health have been much in the news recently. The Soldiers’ Arts Academy is currently touring with their play @soldieronstage which is an insightful look at the effect of military life in family, friends and those serving. https://www.soldiersartsacademy.com/
Soldiers from within our amphibious capability have been taking part in a leadership day. The troops undertook a Battlefield Study at Bergen Belsen, before returning for a formal dinner in the Sgts Mess at Catterick Barracks. Guest of honour and external speaker was Lt Col Danny Wild of the Kings Royal Hussars.
