Well the mini in for restoration strip down is well underway!

Rangerover came in this morning for air con job and have a look over as steering bit vague..... Think we found the issue

we just want to clarify that if your vehicle has a few days left on its mot test and you present it for an mot and it fails ,the failure cancels out any previous mot test ,thus meaning the vehicle can not be used until it has been repaired as it has been deemed unroadworthy with immediate effect ,regardless of what you need to do with the vehicle ,some people are not grasping this and will fall fowl of the law !! The road outside here today is closed 9.30am til 3pm. We are still open should you need to get through the roadworks to us they will allow access.

so today we collected this mini ,it had ben driven approx. 1 mile by a lady ,who thought she heard a" rubbing noise " ,the spring has snapped and basically shredded the tyre down past the cords and wrapped them around the hub and driveshaft very lucky not to have caused more damage or even an accident !

we went out to a little citreon that had broke down the previous day ,after doing some tests and diagnostics via the ecu ,it as telling us the vehicle had a fault with the fuel rail pressure ,at this point ,having had a similar fault on a Peugeot previous (same engine) we had a quick look and the fuel filter was 3 years old so with this replace and bleeding the system it fired straight away ,to reveal a couple of the injector seals blown ,after a conversation with the customer it had a major service 3000 miles ago …….the lady had been to a garage chain and obviously the filters not changed, this is not uncommon with main dealers and garage chains .shocking but true ! so seals renewed and all the filters now changed its back on the road ! now is this how they do service deals from £49 ? I think so , happy motoring !

the new mot test came into force on Monday and with it came some changes many of you will be unaware of,not only are there a lot more testable items,with it came the new ruling of if a vehicle fails its mot it renders it unroadworthy with immediate effect .meaning it can not legally be driven away from the testing station ,here at a51 we can recover your vehicle from the testing station or carry out a pre mot check to make sure you do not fall foul of the new rules

this weeks 4x4 tyre deal week ,we have a set of four lassa competes 215 65 16 tyres supplied and fitted £200 inclusive of vat (Suzuki jimny size ) and a set of four roadstone 265 65 17 that fit l200 /Isuzu pickup etc at £250 inclusive of vat and fitting
