Clio Cup contenders Ciceley Motorsport visited us today to put their Renault Clio Cup competition cars through their paces on our MAHA Rolling Road.
One of their Clios left the track at last weekends fixture rearward into the gravel and it was unsure if this had any adverse gearbox damage, so it was tested. Thankfully it's trip off track didn't cause any measurable drop in performance today.
All the Ciceley Clio Cup cars tested performed perfectly today and are definitely for...midable contenders.
Thanks to Adam and Rusell Morgan and their team of engineers for making our testing today an absolute pleasure.

A short video of a VW Passat 1.6TDi which visited us for a stage 1 rolling road remap last week. These engines are quite amazing, the torque gains after just a short remap session can transform the drivability drastically

A short Video of a little Skoda Yeti 1.2 TSi Petrol being remapped on our rolling road. The results were surprisingly good for this 1.2 Turbocharged Petrol. And we later found out it had a faulty turbo actuator as well, so we aim to get it back in, we recon it will make even better power with the actuator fixed

Since i bought this Focus ST a few months ago, its been so hectic with remapping work i didn't get around to it. I set aside a day last week determined to get on with the job. I was very pleased with the results and the process went without a hitch.

Our franchise dealer in Essex, DMA Performance went for the works with this BMW. The map we wrote was a stage 1 with decat function. I goes to show that with careful selection of the bolt on parts - and the right remap the results can be staggering.

I only went into the Ford dealers for a head gasket for a transit and came out with this ST Diesel 185bhp
Why a diesel and not the petrol version? The petrol has been done to death and we like to do something different.
Next week if we get time we will develop a custom remap for it on our rolling road and post the video

Its not everyday one of official CLIO GEN4 CUP CARS turns up on our doorstep.
During its last race this Ciceley Motorsport team car rolled on its roof causing some damage to its sequential gearbox as well as the roof
Our rolling road allowed them to put the repaired gearbox through its paces ahead of its next race outing
... The car was driven today by no other than BTCC racer Adam Morgan also of Ciceley Motorsport. The punchy 1.6 turbo charged engine made to produce over 220bhp sounded absolutely fantastic, nice and loud.
The car performed perfectly, better than expected, as did our MAHA MSR-500 Dyno. with each run being less than a 3 bhp variation
We have been promised all of the teams cars including Adam Morgans and Aiden Moffat's Touring cars will be making a trip to see us, so we will get some video next time

We have been very busy developing our HGV Truck remaps before rolling the service out to our dealers.
Why remap a truck ?
... The simple answer is, why not. Remapping a truck gains a huge amount of torque which = a reduced Miles per gallon.
Trucks span the length of the UK in a day, and loaded return less than 15mpg. Fuel is the biggest cost in running a HGV. A typical example on average a Euro 4-5 spec truck in good shape gains 10-15% fuel saving my increasing its torque.
This can save 100 pounds or more a tank

FORD C-Max 2.0TDCI 136BHP Version. 2012
We were pleased to see a previous customer return with his new C-Max 2.0 TDCI (136) for the Advanced Tuning "Stage 1 treatment".
The bullet proof 2.0TDCi engine is proven to be a strong and willing power unit. Therefore we were not surprised to see that the power run we did before the remap measured the claimed stock power of 136hp, which is always a good thing to see.
... We made some minor adjustments to the maps relating to torque and turbo and tried a few variations to smooth out the lag low down and increase the linear torque throughout the rev range.

Being the last day of the year, we decided to blow the cobwebs off our Fiesta ST and do a bit of tweaking to the map on the rolling road. The phones are strangely quiet and we have time for a little tuning fun.
Apart from Fiesta St180 Airtech Stage 2 intercooler the car is completely standard and produced 180bhp. Our stage 1 map we have been running on the car for a while produced a consistent and very pokey 219hp
We decided to see how much safe power we could extract from t...he standard turbo and exhaust system. Some say that the most bhp you can get from a standard turbo is around 225 as they are small and the pipework is quite restrictive.
After a few power runs calculations we found some improvements we could make, a couple of temperature related fuel limiters were modified. Cam timing, and knock was raised. The wide band readings for the Lambda was modified to a AFR more suited to power, without the risk of things getting too hot.
After a couple of hours, we did a final power run and was very suprised and pleased with the results, for a pretty much standard car.

235bhp and 356NM of torque.
so what next ?, who knows maybe we will get a nice Cobrasport stainless exhaust, with a 100 cell sports cat. Or even a x27 Hybrid turbo. Who knows..... Stay tuned
