The Great North Swim event we hosted..
Some Pizzas we managed to make while out with the Motorhome - tasted better than they look.. not quite Wood fired but location makes up for it :)
Bar looking great.. with quality Mojito's, Real Ales and amazing homemade lemonade along side the usuals.. Food served fresh, fast and late.. happening again from 12 - 9.30pm tonight - come and join us :)
The Great North Swim social space is almost created :) Please join us tomorrow and Saturday where we will be serving food and drink throughout the day and evening.. Craft beers and Cocktails accompanied by great food within a lovely chill zone - what more could you want???

INTRODUCING - INSECTOVORE!!
80% of the world's population eats insects so why don't we..? Well because we haven't needed to and I suppose we are also a bit squeamish..
On this Pizza there are Mealworms, Bamboo worms, Cickets, Queen leafcutter ants, wild black ants, roasted queen weaver ants, silkworm pupae and Buffalo worms.. as you do - this is an Al Frescos tester :)
... It doesn't look very appetising but interestingly the flavours were distinct and quite delicate.. once you get over the fact of the matter, the matter is fact.
I am sure it will be stag do's and hen parties or adventurous families and groups that go for it - as a dare! But I suppose, it is as much for me to raise, in a small way, the need for more sustainable protein as anything.. I don't see an insect burger in the offing but it wasn't actually that bad - are you brave enough?!?
