The café area in the foyer in the Learning Commons is open to all. Admittance to the Learning Commons is limited to current staff and students of The University of Manchester holding a valid University ID card.
It's a blessing to have a study place like Learning Common in this busy exam season!!! Wish you all best of luck with your Preparation and Exams. Please keep the place clean at all times and throw any rubbish before you leave your place.
Thanks
Learning Commons Closure
Unfortunately, it has been necessary to close the Learning Commons to undertake important remedial works.
In the early hours of this morning, while the building was closed, there was a serious incident involving the shattering of a glass balustrade. Nobody was injured in the incident.
... We have held urgent meetings with suppliers and contractors to understand and remedy the problem and to ensure that it cannot happen again.
We will reopen the building as soon as we have attended to these matters. In the interim, the Main Library will be open 24/7 with immediate effect.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
