Went to see Rodrigo y Gabriela. My brother is a wheelchair user so my dad contacted them when buying tickets months ago to check out access as we've never been before. There are 52 steps to get to the access area. We were offered either the stair climber which takes 15 minutes or the 'lifting team' (4 members of staff to carry my brother up in his chair). He is very small so we opted for the lifting team, they were so lovely and helpful. There was a drinks service which was great. The toilet was a long way away, luckily my brother didn't need it as it would have been difficult for him to get past a lot of people. The area is right next to the stage, we couldn't see the screen but we were so close to rodrigo y Gabriela and the sound was fab. We would definitely go again but if you do have access needs I'd think carefully about whether it will work for you, I didn't see the stair climber in use to say what it's like.

This is the second time my mum and I have been to this venue to see Tokio Myers

Staff were brilliant and such nice down to earth people :)

My only problem is the stalls - I felt like I was squished like a sardine, I feel the chairs should be slight more spaced a little bit.

User

I contacted the accessibility team and they were great. Cameron looked after us very well and great view of the stage. Glad I had coat to sit on though as wooden benches.

User

Came to see Mogwai and had a great night. Really intersting, quirky venue with one of the best balconies ive ever been on. The bars were great with plenty on offer for thirsty bleeders like me

User

Booked to see OVO on the 18th January. Parking ticket obtained for Imperial College as we normally do but when approaching Imperial College parking was told by police that there had been an incident so no access. Drove around to the Albert Hall and spoke to an attendant who immediately contacted his manager and parking was arranged immediately right outside the main door which was fantastic as I have fibromyalgia and no good at walking very far. One inside we were directed to our seats which were on the third floor so went up by lift and into our allotted seating area. Unfortunately because of the height my partner had a panic/vertigo attack so we had to leave the area and again a manageress was called and showed us to a box on the first floor with a really good view. I cannot praise the staff at the Albert Hall enough for making what would have been a disastrous evening into a really enjoyable one. First class venue, first class staff. Many many thanks.

User

Amazing venue, beautiful acoustics and the staff from the bar and security deserve a big thanks for there friendliness, all very approachable and helpful.

Back to the gig, Went to see Mogwai, Mugstar and a band I’d never heard of called Beak, wow what a very lovely surprise they where, night started about 6:30 and finished around 11pm but felt like I was there for only half an hour as I enjoyed myself so much the time flew by.

Once again massive thanks.

User

Ali the older gentleman with a shaved head was the most lovely member of staff I have ever encountered he was so helpful and so kind xxxxx

User

Saw Erasure. Really cosy intimate venue, but if you want to get a good position up on the gallery then get queuing early. Plus it can get VERY hot. First came here for Goldfrapp back in 2013 and the overheating has not been resolved. Smoking terrace upstairs and poor disabled access but it's a very old building so what can you expect? Nice high stage so decent view from most positions but there are pillars upstairs so look out.

User

Let down by drinks and pricing. Flat pint of coke for just under a fiver had to swap because the gas had gone on a pump. Then asked for a pint of poretti that was poured from a jug that seemed to have cider in it as well. You pay daft prices you expect better

User

Major fire risk as far as im concerned!!! So many people crammed into such a small space. We were here to see paul heaton n jaqui abbott who were fantastic but i have never felt so uncomfortable in a venue! I nearly left part way through cos i didnt feel safe. Im sure the security staff felt the same. The bar staff wernt up to much either so really when all said n done dont think i would be going back!

User

First time here and probably the last. Did not expect to be paying £6 a pint. Yes, that's £6!!!! Ridiculous. Even a very small gin and tonic was £5. I would possibly expect to pay that at an arena gig but not in the centre of town. Also £3 for a bottle of water!! Not enough bar staff on and those that were there were slow and not very customer focused. Thumbs down from me.

User

Drink prices ridiculous, the staff was unwilling to accommodate party goers expectations - seemingly no price structure as prices changed dependant what bar on what floor you was at! I expect to pay higher prices however 19 pounds for two vodkas and diet mixer !

Not to mention the d j not knowing the arses from the elbows and leaving the punters standing dumbfounded waiting for the transition of sets .lack of organisation.- joey negero best set due to his engagement with the crowd and actually looked liked he wanted to be there

User

Would like to say thank you to the woman working last night with the brown bobed hair, I asked someone and I think her name was Jodie. 5 of us sat at some reserved tables at bongo bingo last night 5 mins before starting (which is odd because last time I went i got told you could not reserve tables!) We sat right at the end and was just waiting to see wether the people who these were reserved for actually showed up. Anyway “Jodie” came over 3 times and told us to move so we went and sat upstairs, SHOCK no body came to these reserved tables! and 5 mins after we moved when bingo started there was a mass rush of people to these tables!!? The people who ended up sitting there was a bunch of bores and even the bingo caller told them to get off there phones! So thank you for putting a downer on our night Jodie

User

What a joke paid £27.00 to sit on what felt like the floor for hours if I had known that I would have not booked my tickets. Disgusting squashed in like sardines Tokio Myers how much you making from this !! Never coming back to this venue

User

Messed around clearly staff not briefed properly. Ticket checked and crossed ,climbed stairs, only to be sent back as the first guy hadn’t stamped our hands. No thought as to people

Crossing on packed staircases, I also suffer from asthma and having already queued outside was having difficulty breathing. Woman at top of stairs saying “ I have been told I can’t let anyone in without stamp” even though we had the correct tickets in our hands which had been marked by the guy on door, who when we went back told us he had not been told about this rule. I am in now , very unhappy that this may spoil my evening, will be seeking a legal view in the morning re disability access.

User

Literally me and my friends spent a combined £150+ on tickets for Glitterbox last night. We turned up before midnight to be told we were not allowed in the venue as they had stopped letting in. Despite the fact we all had our tickets that we pre-booked weeks in advance. This ruined the entire bank holiday for our whole group as we didn't presume we would need to make a back up plan to go somewhere else as we each spent over 30 pounds each for our ticket to the venue. Absolutely disgusted. I could understand if we all arrived at 2am demanding entry but it wasn't even midnight!? What club stops letting in before midnight when you already have a ticket?!? The bouncers were completely unwilling to listen or even attempt to get us entry. Just shrugged their shoulders without the slightest effort of an apology. So disappointed, I expected so much better. What a waste of money

I was not given the courtesy of a response so I will paste my email below:

Dear Sir/ madam,

I am contacting you today regarding the Yung Lean and Sad Boys event on the 13/12/2017. After travelling from Worcestershire to Manchester with great excitement for this event, I have found my experience soured by your policies/ door staff.

Upon reaching the security check point I was expecting to have my bag searched. Instead I was told if I did not get rid of this bag I could not enter the venue! I was then left with the difficult decision to either leave the event, which I had traveled and booked a hotel for, or lose my bag which I had also spent a lot of money on and had personal value to me.

I completely understand why this policy would be in place, however I was not made aware of this policy at any point prior to the gig, nor was there an option to have my bag searched/ put into a cloakroom. Furthermore if this was part of a drug prevention system, the smell of marijuana throughout the venue would proove your search procedure EXTREMELY ineffective. Not only was this situation extremely unpleasant but the doormans attitude made it worse, there were numerous other people asking about this policy who were not made aware. One of which was banned from entering the venue for 'arguing'.

In light of this I would like a member of your team to contact me with an appropriate resolution to the matter, alternatively I can forward the purchase details of the bag and this can be reimbursed.

I attended the Ben Howard gig on the 29th June at the Albert Hall and can safely say, I’ve never felt more uncomfortable at a venue in my life, and I go to quite a lot of gigs all around the country.

It was clearly an over sold event and felt like pure chaos in there.

I was lucky enough to find a seat upstairs but spent most of the time there in sheer panic as security staff were literally letting people block exits and stairways..

if there was an emergency in there that night, I dread to think what the outcome would of been.

Honestly felt very unsafe being there.

Add this to the fact that it was so ridiculously hot in there, with no real ventilation or any air conditioning I came away feeling like I was melting and needing fresh air.

I didn’t enjoy the gig at all which was a shame as i’d been so excited to finally get to see Ben Howard perform.

From a very mediocre set from Ben, whom I’ve loved for years, to the appalling venue, the poor security staff and overall

atmosphere it’s safe to say I won’t be attending another event here again.

It just wasn’t worth the hassle, especially as I’d travelled from the West Midlands to be there.

Never again!

User

Had to leave Ben Howard concert on Friday before we passed out, £3 for bottles of water, uncomfortable seat/box to sit on. Gutted as I hardly saw any songs after sitting 2 1/2 hours before he came out, doors open at 7 but he didn’t come on until 9.20, left at 10.10pm!

Very sad
