The fourth year and the fourth nomination came for the Italian Awards…
Before the night? Nerves… plenty of them!
... In 2015 we won the best team award and the second best award for the Best Pizza. In 2016, we won the First award to the best pizza in England and in 2017 we established ourselves as the first ever to win two years in a row the Best Pizza in England Award. In 2018 the competition was higher than ever‚Ķ the organisation behind the Italian Awards went far and beyond with a new way of competing for the best Pizza in the country and that was‚Ķby bringing all the three nations together in an ultimate UK Pizza Championship. As well as this, Amalia was first ever down a new award‚ĶChef of the year‚Ķ With all these years competing for the desired prize, we were completely pushing ourselves to try our best on this one‚Ķ Antonio Lixi, our head chef and other half of Amalia (together with Miguel collecting the award in the pictures) had prepared weeks before the competition the dishes that lately will make Amalia overall winner of the Italian Award: ‚ÄúCuoco of the year‚ÄĚ. Antonio wasn't present in the night as he had a major family commitment in Spain. Although he saw all the Gala live on a video call as Miguel wouldn't allow Antonio to miss such event, what if he‚Äôd win and he¬īd know after? What a disappointment! ‚Äď See pictures for credit! The Italian Awards are a ceremony that rewards the hardest working teams in Italian restaurants in the UK and their food made with passion and love for the Italian Cuisine. It‚Äôs a kind of award that first comes from the public as they vote online to get the restaurants to the finals. Then a high qualified set of judges declare the verdict on the night. So this is a love letter to you all‚Ķ Without your love Amalia wouldn't exist, the whole circle of sleeping, Working, Eat and Repeat wouldn‚Äôt make sense without you.
What can you expect from us if you continue without journey? Smiles, good times, relaxed celebrations (and not so relaxed ūüėú), good food available to everyone and the hope of believing that authentic Italian cuisine is possible in Liverpool (and beyond) lives in our hearts forever.

With only one week to go... here we are to yet another exciting event...
Who would have told us this 6 years ago... The Italian Awards for the fourth year in a row... we brought back home a total of four awards in the past three years and this year... believe us... it’s more than enough to just he nominated...
... The best award is to have customers as great as the ones that form our unique #fAmalia
We are hard worker, friendly and live life with passion. Our only award would be to be able to take Amalia in the future to another level, making an impact in this world.
This year we have started a new adventure that is going exceptionally well and that is a bit different to our Amalia in Campbell Square. At LIV - Organic & Natural Food Market we deliver Italian pizza made with organic and natural products both to have in or take out. Baking also our own natural bread and being able to cater for a whole new public makes us feel so great too. This project as been very well received and help us keep growing thinking in our next steps to make Amalia able to deliver more different products to more different tastes.
No matter what happens next Sunday at the Italian Awards. Loving what we do and making people happier with nice healthy food is what keep is going.

There isn‚Äôt anything more satisfying than than growing. If you stop for one second right there and think about this you‚Äôll realise it‚Äôs true. You understand the ‚Äúwhy‚ÄĚ you had to be stubborn and naive to make you the person that you are now.
In 2012 it was only a few of us (literally a few friends and family that formed a ‚ÄúfAmalia‚ÄĚ) and not in a million years we would have thought that this will turn into what it is now... This fAmalia keeps growing and growing and so we have grown at a personal level with it.
Nothing is like the first day, not even the restaurant itself. We have grown, we have adapted, we have changed and learnt from the past. Just like in life... we have cried, loved and laughed in this ‚Äúbusiness‚ÄĚ. But we‚Äôll never call it that. To us this is, basically, our life. Our only LIFE. This is what we do.
6 years ago we wouldn’t have thought that coming from Italy and Spain to set up a restaurant in Liverpool will put us forward for the fourth year running on the top of a National Competition. Our legs shake and our mind wanders in the clouds every time we receive an award. One never gets used to this, believe me. And here we are now, on the top 10 in 6 different categories for The Italian Awards.

[...] Although fantastic business partners, the pair are friends first and foremost, and go back beyond 2007. They first met during their University days at York where they both worked at the same restaurant. Antonio was head chef and, within a few months of working there, Miguel soon charmed his way to the top and took over as manager. Went for the second time yesterday for my 30th! Ignore all the negative reviews because people just like moaning. This place is absolutely delicious and the staff are great fun. We had an excellent time and the food is outstanding!

We visited here Saturday 21st, there was 10 of us all together celebrating a friends birthday. Unfortunately due to a break down in communication we received our mains and starters at the same time!! After a quick conversation with the manager, I think he said his name was Guy, we received complimentary drinks and dessert he couldn't of been more willing to make things right and also found a candle to put on our friends birthday cake and sang happy birthday with us! All told a slight mishap that was fixed as good as it could of been, the food was amazing and a great night was had!!

We love this restaurant, enjoyed it the first time last month, and decided to revisit for a family celebration.

The service is good, the venue is very relaxed, as it just on the outskirts of the busy Liverpool One.

The food was very nice, startes came on time, and although there was a small mix up with our main, it was sorted out quickly.

Highly recommend s visit.....indoor or outdoor.

I took my daughter for her 10th birthday and we loved it. It was very busy so waited a while for our starters but they kept us updated on the reason for the slight delay. The food was lovely and good sized portions. Very reasonably priced for food and drink. The staff were really friendly and made my daughter's night singing happy birthday after she told the waitress it was her birthday when we first arrived. We will definitely return.

I reserved a table, arrived at the indicated hour, we were very nice and warmly received, sensational service that does everything to please customers. The chefs are doing everything to please the customers' palate and this with a sensational result. So far, the only Italian Restaurant where I felt like in Italy. Snacks, main dishes and desserts are so delicious that there is no word to describe this taste. I would recommend anyone who wants a small escape to Italy in the center of Liverpool. Had my boyfriend 21ST birthday meal yesterday and food was absolutely delicious! Staff made everyone feel welcome and very friendlyūüėä.. by far my favourite italian and will definitely be coming back again Xx

Best Italian food in the UK. OMG, it is fantastic. I think the taste is quite similar than the food that I tried in Rome. And Natalia is the best waitress, very smiley and helpful ‚̧ԳŹ

Went last night for valentines/birthday meal and had a fabulous night! it was absolutely heaving in there, so there was a little wait for the table, but we were seated and our orders were taken quite quickly. The food was gorgeous (mozzarella carozza/funghi aglio starters, bbq meat fest pizza/sea bass spaghetti mains) it was only our 2nd visit, but we‚Äôll definitely be back ÔŅĹ

Pop in there on the last minute with my 2 granddaughters great kids meal well worth the money and my and my daughter meal was lovely and hot will be going back there again soon

First time at this restaurant and myself and my daughter (who has been before) thoroughly enjoyed our meal. She had the Hawaiian pizza and I had the Tagliatelle con gamberoni al pesto di pistacchio (king prawns in garlic white wine cream sauce with pesto). My meal was beautifully flavoursome. To go with this I ordered the focaccia al pesto (pizza bread with garlic and herbs) and this was the only negative! The bread was far too salty (and I love my salt). I could only manage 2 slices! The flavour was lovely but just needed half the amount of salt. The service was friendly and considering how busy it was we didn‚Äôt have to wait too long for our meal. On the day there were technical problems and it was ‚Äėcash only‚Äô. I didn‚Äôt realise until I was due to pay but they were happy for me to nip to local cash machine (while my daughter waited at table). Overall it was a very happy experience and I will be going again.

Used to go to this restaurant all the time and couldn't complain, havnt been in a year we went on Sunday and waits ages for our starters despite the restaurant being empty. Ordered prawns and mushrooms for starters these are not what the used to be, but our mains were lovely.

Food was great but I booked a table for 730 and didn’t get seated for an hour. Could’ve understood 15/20 minutes with it being busy but an hour is a joke.

Really disappointed, just left the restaurant now, even though we booked a table and arrived on time we had a 15-20 minute wait,



we got our bottle of wine and starters then ordered our mains, an hour went by for mains so we enquired, by this point the restaurant was fairly empty



the staff seemed very confused at us asking for our mains our waitress then reported back that we hadn’t ordered mains in which we did



we find out that there had been a mix up in a kitchen so they started cooking our mains. The restaurant is pretty empty at this point



when the mains come out my food is the wrong food and wasn’t the dish I ordered, the host did came over to say sorry and gave us our eventually cooked food somewhat minutes later packaged up.



However, I’m on my way to McDonald’s right now as I would rather have that. The Only thing we got was an apology no money knocked off the bill or complimentary drinks given- won’t be coming back last time I came was four years ago wasn’t that pleased then either but was hoping it had changed. Staff seems more concerned in getting themselves a drink at the bar after their shift than delivering good service, felt really ignored and very disappointed in our experience tonight.
