Brownies to die for? We have them! And they are baked in the house by the awesome @alwayshappyandpositive @t.raybake!
Tereza's salted caramel brownie got featured at @mcrfinest' "The best things we are and drank this week" and we couldn't be more proud.
"If the coffee wasn’t good enough, freshly roasted in house and served to perfection by a team of actual coffee connoisseurs, the brownies are something else. Baked just behind the counter filling the coffee shop with a cocoa...-asmic aroma their sweet selection is to die for. We went for the salted caramel chocolate brownie (and picked out the biggest slab they had). Marbelled with gooey caramel through a dense chocolatey bake, it’s safe to say every bite was even more delightful than the last." . . #coffee #coffeeshop #brownie #caramelbrownie #treatyoself #cake #coffeeandcake #manchester #mcr #mcrfoodie #mcrfinest #ancoats #ancoatscoffeeco

RED EL CARMEN
PRODUCER: Red El Carmen... CUP PROFILE: Dark Chocolate, Tropical Fruits, Biscuit COUNTRY: Colombia CUP SCORE: 85 SOURCING: @rawmaterial.coffee DESIGN: @drme_studio
This coffee from Red El Carmen association in Colombia stood out during blind tastings against other caffeinated samples. When asked “Which is the decaf on this table?”, most people gave the wrong answer. We don’t blame them. This is one of the cleanest decafs we’ve tried to date, with no residual off-flavours related to the decaffeination process. In the cup you’ll find notes of dark chocolate and biscuit with the sweetness of bananas and the acidity of orange zest. The creamy body makes for a great espresso, but we are more than happy to say this coffee can also be enjoyed as filter. . . #coffee #specialtycoffee #decaf #decaffeinated #decafcoffee #colombia #colombiancoffee #coffeebeans #freshcoffee #blackcoffee #latte #redassociations #rawmaterial #manchester #mcr #ancoats #ancoatscoffeeco

GURA AB
PRODUCER: Othaya Farmers Co-operative Society Limited
... CUP PROFILE: Lemonade, Green Apple, Dried Mango
COUNTRY: Kenya
CUP SCORE: 88
SOURCING: @olamcoffee
This classic Kenyan coffee is grown on the fertile volcanic highlands of the Aberdare Mountain Range in West Central Kenya. The rich red soil and the cool climate lend themselves to the slow maturation of cherries and the production of bright and complex beans. They are processed with the fresh waters of the Gura River which sits right next to the washing station or “factory” and gives the mill its name. Gura AB’s acidity reminds us of sweet lemonade, blending notes of lemon and lime. The citrussy hit is followed by notes of green apple and dried mango with a hint of chocolate and caramel. . . . #coffee #specialtycoffee #coffeeroasters #coffeebeans #UK #UKcoffee #kenya #kenyancoffee #filtercoffee #batchbrew #blackcoffee #pourover #v60 #manchester #ancoats #ancoatscoffeeco

Went to the supper club on Saturday night and what an excellent evening. Food was ace, and it's bring your own booze, too! We had a soy cappuccino and an iced coffee as well and both were on point, thank you! Can't wait to come back for a lazy morning off, relaxing with a book enjoying the cakes and brilliant coffee in this cool little hidden gem!

User

Went in and tried 4 different coffees, each one really great. 3 done as a pour over and 1 aero press. My favourite being the Ethiopian done through aero press. Freshly roasted coffee. Fantastic service. Lovely atmosphere. I really enjoyed my visit with my friend and would definitely recommend coming here. By far the best coffee in Manchester.

User

The best flat white ever. Every sip was pure delight. The seating area is limited. The service was somewhat lacking possibly because it was so busy.

User

Stumbled across this place in the spur of the moment and I'm so gutted I didn't find about this place any sooner!

The place is stunning, the staff are extremely talented and kind and the coffee is out of this world. It's completely opened my eyes to speciality coffee roasting.

I will definitely be back.

Thank you Manny and your colleague (didn't manage to get her name unfortunately :-( )

User

Popped in the other day. Really cool guys. Bought some beans roasted the day before, amazing depth of tastes. The Gakayuini coffee is definitely the best coffee I've tasted in a long time.

User

Popped in for first time yesterday. Just had coffees, although if we hadn't not long had lunch the cakes would have been calling. Went with a suggestion from the very friendly barista ... after trying a sample he proffered. Really nice. Definitely one for a repeat visit. A hidden gem in lovely surroundings.

User

Made my day when I was visiting Manchester for two days :) Great coffee and baristas and perfect coffee lovers atmosphere in an old beautiful building! Worth to visit :) There is always time for good coffee!

User

Just me second visit today, and only to buy some beans. Excellent knowledgeable and friendly service, and I will have to actually stay for a drink and something to eat next time :)

User

It was such a comfortable environment, and the staff took good care of us, even going so far as to answer our questions about how the coffee was roasted and distributed. It was my best experience at a cafe in Manchester!

User

I was confused when I found a coffee corner in Lloyds Marker St., but when I knew it's Ancoats Coffee, I can't help but to try the coffee as I heard a lot about them.

Bought a small latte and it was literally the best latte I have ever had in my entire life!!!

User

I found this lovely coffee shop randomly and love it. You can try all different kinds of coffee away from the hussle and bussle of the centre. Haven't tried the food yet but I am sure it is amazing.

User

Great service minded staff with big passion for coffee made me and my colleagues visit to an absolutely amazing coffee experience.

I strongly recommend everyone that's interesting in specialty coffee to visit Ancoats Coffee Co

User

Fantastic coffee, friendly, unpretentious service from the ever helpful staff. The food is varied, home cooked and delicious too. Whether you are a coffee connoisseur or someone who just enjoys coffee, this hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful old Ancoats mill, is well worth the time to seek out!

User

Definitely the best coffee in Manchester. It's jumped straight into the top 5 of our list including the best of Brighton & Newcastle & that is no mean feat! Great food too!

Wonderful industrial building and sympathetic decor - stripped back, utilitarian but very comfortable.

User

Best coffee in town period! Ancoats Coffee is all about quality... the finest world coffee is roasted in the shop to have at home or savour in the brick vaulted iconic period mill...

User

Amazing coffee, made the way it should be ; short and strong. The style and inspiration which stemmed from Australia/New Zealand. Beautiful decor and interior with friendly and kind staff - topped off with great cake and food selection. The BEST coffee shop in Manchester!

User

Amazing coffee, fantastic building and very, very helpful staff. Manni sat with me for half an hour talking about roasting beans and how to improve the roasts I do at home. That kind of excellent customer care is very rare! You HAVE to visit Ancoats Coffee if you are in Manchester! Also fascinating to watch when they are roasting .....smells wonderful too!

User

It was the only place I've seen proper herbal tea in a jar. It was nice having a pot of it and sitting outside was a rare occasion. The weather was just right for it and the tea was very nice. A welcome break after a stressful morning. Even the staff were very accommodating.

User

Ordered some expresso coffee beans which were not as expected (but good coffee albeit mild) E-mailed twice about this with over a week's gap between e-mails and no response to either - Very poor customer service and won't be ordering again
