Went to this restaurant with my daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren. It was a first time on a Friday night and when we arrived the place was heaving. Not surprising because when we got our food, we thought it that it was excellent and the service was very good. Would therefore recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants good food and food service, together with a very reasonable cost. Try the special offers.

Really impressed with this Italian! Their special offer of £13.99 for three courses Monday -Friday is amazing value for money. What you can’t finish they package up to take home. Food freshly cooked and tasty.

Had our small & intimate wedding meal here yesterday (32 of us) I cannot praise Andrea & her team enough, it was relaxed, cosy & the food was fabulous, everybody was so kind, helpful & complimentary!!!!! Excellent service and food from the very young staff who were extremely attentive and helpful. A real credit to the restaurant whilst the Management were taking a break away. Table of 4 we all ate from the £12:50 for 3 courses menu. I had black pudding starter which was very tasty and a hot pepper sauce which suited my palate, main was the fruit de mare risotto cooked perfectly and followed by the Italian trifle which was yummy. We enjoyed it so much we’ve booked for NYE!!

Absolutely beautiful meal! Came tonight with my partner and hadn’t booked. The restaurant looked full but they found room for us. Ordered from the special menu which was amazing value and fantastic choice. The portions were plentiful and they were happy to box up what we didn’t manage for us to take home. Could not fault the food or the service. Thank you to the waiters, chefs and owners! We will definitely be coming back again soon.

A few of us went last night, seven in total. I personally was not very happy with my main meal, a pizza which was stodgy and it was sent back to the kitchen, waited a while for a different thin based, at this point everyone else had finished their main meal. I enjoyed my starter, prawn cocktail and my dessert was good. The waiters were very attentive.

A few of us came for my birthday last Sunday - the service was fantastic and the food we all received was lovely , only given 3 stars because there was a definite lack of vegetarian options on the menu which I found disappointing although the chef did prepare me a vegetarian pasta dish and for that I was thankful or I wouldn't have been eating much apart from starter ! Just a suggestion but maybe you could add some main course options on the menu.

Bit disappointed tonight, went for our wedding anniversary and although my meal with a starter of mushroom and goats cheese with a main of duck breast with cherry sauce was lovely. My husbands meal was terrible. The pate starter was very dry with no hint of brandy (was supposed to be laced) and the lamb shank for main was very skinny with gravy served in a bowl on the plate which was too hot to handle!!! I love going to Andiamos but do find it a bit hit and miss, which is a shame.

We have used Andiamo several times since moving to westhoughton last year. The food is only ever on par if you’re lucky, but is the best out of a bad bunch in the area. The waiting staff are so polite and lovely it’s such a shame the chef doesn’t have the same approach to customer service. On at least 4 times that I can remember including tonight, when we have rang for a takeaway, the staff have asked the chef only to be shouted at and told ‘I’m busy’. I understand the restaurant gets busy but I feel so sorry for the staff being spoken to like they are. I would not work under such conditions and the fact the food is only just acceptable means I won’t be using this restaurant again as I feel doing so condones his behaviour!

Very very very disappointed with the meal I had last night �as I took the first bite out of the chicken breast I noticed that the chicken wasn’t cooked it was still pink and raw luckily I only ate one piece of it. They did replace the meal but this has put me off returning hear in the future�

Alarm bells should have rang when a restaurant on Friday night has instant availability...

But thought we'd try it anyway...

Starter was freezing cold fresh out the fridge when it was ment to be hot oven baked cheese. Hmmm yak totally horrible.... Then our mains arrived.... After we we're asked to clear our own table to make room!!!! Are you having a laugh???? Anyway Then we got served Another dish not fit for human consumption... With tasteless vegetables swimming in a pool water.....

Didn't even bother finishing my beer which was nice out of the bottle so you can't go wrong with that one... We couldn't wait to get out of the place...

Thankfully the chippy was open around the corner...

Really sorry but I have to be honest

NEVER AGAIN......

My husband booked a table for us and our 4 young children for Mothers Day. We live really local and had heard good reviews so we were looking forward to it.

Pretty much from the off the service was terrible. We were pointed in the direction of the wrong table, before we worked out for ourselves that it wasn't big enough. Our right table was cramped and after being seated and our coats taken we noticed it wasn't laid out. The waitress apologised and then gave some of us cutlery, before wandering off and never returning. 15 minutes later our drink orders were taken and we waited a further 15 minutes for them to arrive.

We were all feeling very frustrated, especially the kids but because it was Mothers Day and it was busy we were willing to overlook the delays.

However, we noticed that a table of 4 (2 adults 2 children) who were seated at the back of us were having a completely different experience. There drinks and food were delivered efficiently and quick whilst we were sat there still missing food and with empty glasses after 45 minutes.

One of my daughters starter never arrived, and instead she received a free substitute (something we never ordered). That starter never did arrive.

After witnessing lots of staff standing around the service area doing nothing and some tables receiving the attention of 3 waitressing staff we decided to call it a night.

I approached a member of staff who apologised but still couldn't tell me where our mains were. When I returned to our table, the table next to us were ordering deserts. We couldn't even get a second drink after being there for over an hour.

I asked for the bill, and was informed I didn't have to pay for the food I hadn't yet received (??!!!!), how kind. After being offered vouchers (which we declined) we were informed our food was ready. By this time it really was too late. There was even a problem locating our coats. I paid quickly and we left, only to realise that they have not only charged me for the starter that never arrived but also for the free substitute that none of us asked for or wanted.

Absolutely appalling service and we will never return again.
